How did Kamala end up with over 15million less votes than Biden/2020

It is simple.

People in 2020 were frustrated after the pandemic. Trump loses. Yes, he lost.

Now in 2024 people are frustrated because most can't afford anything but groceries and even that is hard sometimes.

It doesn't matter whether Biden and Harris are responsible for the inflation that happened. They will get tagged with it and people believe right or wrong that they will be better off with Trump.

Morality does not weigh in above self-preservation. Whether a candidate is promising the right thing or not doesn't matter to the masses. I didn't vote for him, but we are all flawed individuals so maybe I maybe and hopefully I am wrong to think that we just sold our morals for personal gains.

At the same time, I am not upset with people that did vote for him, and I am willing to give him a chance. I am tired of all the people who are angry with each other. I am not upset enough not to have a beer with anyone.

California finished their count on Saturday in 2020, expect the same this time.

COVID made 2020 super weird. Highest participation rate since 1900. Comparing 2024 with 2020 is ridiculous.

The weirdest phenomenon is that people come out with comments like this, somehow thrilled that someone would be bothered a certain candidate won.

I would ask yourself why you get such a thrill sticking it to an anonymous person you’ve never met, and/or why you’re so delighted to get behind a person who is so clearly terrible.

I don’t really get being gung-ho for either candidate but one candidate is clearly a much worse human being and yet that candidate won the election. I am unsure why so many people are okay with a criminal being allowed to run for office. Not wanting Kamala is fine, but then challenge the Republican Party to come up with someone else.

Still, let’s remove emotion. Can you point me to the policies enacted in DT’s first term that positively affected your life? And then, for good measure, the policies of the current administration that negatively affected your life? I was merely asking for an individual to explain their thought process. I was not even asking for logic, just explanation, along the way explaining where my own mental limits come in.

I can answer my own question: I received a refund check and perhaps two in DT’s first term but my financial well being is greatly improved under JB even with the current pieces of inflation. In other ways, my daily life is actually probably largely unaffected, even though the perception is that there is less day-to-day mental fatigue in the last 4 years and thus I have felt lighter.

Overall I think our political system has a number of areas for growth, and that includes truncating the election cycle. Nearly 1/5 -1/4 of a presidential term spent campaigning seems very inefficient.
