The NCAA, USATF, DL, WA can't afford L.A. unless it's a two day Class AA meeting (50,000 fans per day) and have always avoided L.A..
Forget L.A.
O.C., S.D. are not union towns.
Maybe they'll end up at a HS track like The Ten. 😂
GST is looking an American focused thing rather than global. I guess it is targeted mostly to USA which it is not bad in itself but not so appealing for European viewers. I will watch it anyway because I love athletics.
On the other hand, grouping is rubbish because we miss big match ups.
If I was GST, I would merge current groups and do a system where every runner is allocated to one event, but needs to run another one to win the big pot.
For example for MD/Distance have 800/1500/5000 (get rid of the 3000)
Each athlete is in one race and needs to compete in another race to be eligible for price money.
Each event has a price low pot, lets say 30% of the pots they have for the two groups. That's 90% of the money of one pot.
And the global winner is the athlete that scores less points in the two races (being first 1p, 2nd 2p, etc). The global winners pot is 110% of the price of one pot, since only 90% is delivered in the individual events. Remember we are merging two groups into one, so we have 200% available.
This way the 8/15 guys will race the 15/5k guys in the 1500.
Similar approach for speed/hurdles, only there there are 5 events and needs a bit more thought since the 200 is a bit of a cross-over.
It's a win/win. Less athletes (reduce costs), better races, and tactical component choosing events.

LA is already stated as one of the 4 meet locations. (But without a venue or date announced, hard to say it’s confirmed as one of the 4).
Maybe other non GST events will be added to the schedule as filler. (seems like 1/3 of events at diamond league meets aren’t diamond league events.)
I hope it works out though. Seeing ncaa champs challenge the vets is always fun. Hopefully that idea is in the works for the June meet(s).
The challengers are going to be what will really make this level up . Imagine a 1500 without Ingy but with a fit Beamish ... how slow do you allow it to go before someone leads and you've also got the 800 guys to worry about ... then you've got one in Europe which I'm sure they'll try and get Ingy into that along with Whiteman. Excited to see how this goes and the pressure it puts on Diamond leagues to up the game. Although I'm a massive 1500 fan I just can't see the 1500 boys taking down the top 800 guys in the 800 as 1.41 is next level and since Coe no 1500 guy has got close to that sort of speed . Muck around too much in the 1500 and they open the door up to get smoked by some speed merchant stepping up. 2025 is hopefully going to be a massive year for track. Lets hope field events step up to the mark and produces something just as challenging .
