So all the talk of American record for the women, and Susanna Sullivan goes out way faster than everyone else through 5k. She splits 16:27, which is 2:18:48 pace. Well ahead of D'Amato/Saina/Bates (16:50 at 5k, 2:21:49 pace).
Ok. In the press room, we have special tracking which shows mile by mile - even km by km splits. As a gesture of good will, I have shared it with prolific tweeter Chris Chavez of Citius. :)
Should have kept it for myself :)
Here are the men's splits: 4:40,4:46, 4:48, 4:47, 4:47, 4:43.
They are not providing those splits for the women.
Lead woman running 2:07 pace is Kenyan - nothing to see here folks (cough).
Chepngetich has long been one of the world's greatest marathoners. She's much less suspicious than the Ethiopian who couldn't break 2:23 in her first six marathons.

How were you able to spell "Chepngetich" correctly when you usually can't spell many easy words correctly?
