10 beers vs. 10 miles - which can be done faster?

All I know is we better get an update on how this thing went. For the record, I'm going with the 10-miler guy. Everyone seems to be saying "yeah, the 10 beers in 55 minutes can be done". Well, I feel a little more certain saying the 10 miles in 55 minutes WILL be done. I think it's funny too, that about 30 minutes after the competition, one guy will be showered up and feeling great, while the other guy will feel like ass.

That' true. I'd do the 10 miles just to see the other guy on the ground by the time I've showered and combed my hair.

A couple buddies and I have the beer marathon planned for London, thanks to a suggestion from a poster on this board...and is london on TV?

What should our game plan be? We thought the best way was to go hard the first half an hour and then hold strong the rest of the way. Still 26 beers in a hair over 2 hours I think may be borderline dangerous. I'll put up results when we get em.

If there are three of you, be sure that you have easy access to at least 4 toilets or a very widemouthed garbage can. You will all be puking by the time the pacers pull Geb and co. through the half in just over 62 min.

But, then again I'm a lightweight. If you are all a bunch of fat slobs you might be able to do it. then again, if you are a bunch of fat slobs you probably don't need to use the London Marathon as an excuse to drink 26 beers.

The thing with me is it's not so much the alcohol, just that I can drink obscene amounts of water, coke, etc. The biggest factor would probably be me thinking 'oh god, I'm going to be ill tomorrow (hungover)' - after hitting halfway with the beers. I pretty much have a cast iron stomach.

On July 15, the Rumson (NJ) Hash House Harriers will have our annual 10-Mile, 10-Bar Run. Can't we all just drink And run, and get along?

Im throwing the B.S. card in on that one are you serious bro, i can run a beer mile faster than faster than i could run a rootbeer mile. My first and only beer mile i ran in 5:35 and my first and last rootbeer mile i ran in like 7:20 lol it sucked! enough said! I puked all over the place... anyway's beer miles are way easier!

We have a case race, with four to a team, at the end our our cross season, and a guy I live with that's not a runner finished 10 beers in 12 minutes. He did not puke, but didn't have much more for a while. So I'm going to say that 10 beers can be accomplished quicker than 10 miles.

Anyone that even considers this a race has probably never drank beer.

A gallon is 128 oz and this guy does it with milk in 45 seconds.

A guy in my house can do 6 beers in about 14 seconds from a 72 ounce ladle. Its all about stomach capacity and the ability to relax the throat.

There's a tradition at 'Schoolies' here is Australia - its called a shooter race

you line up 10 or so shots of vodka or something similar and start downing em till you get to the end, your mate does the same with his 10 shooters and the first one to finish em is the winner.

I did that one when i was 16 and I wasn't even that good a drinker! I did puke, but it wasnt until ages after... and only after I got stuck into something I found in the cupboard. I think it was one of those sugary chicks drinks.

In short, most people could cope with that much alcohol, but finishing 10 beers in an hour would be hard because of the foaming. Look at how it makes your urine foam up; its gotta do the same thing inside your stomach.

Still, its a pretty even race depending on who you have as your token 'alcoholic.' I'd rather watch the drinker than the runner. More chance of an upset ;)

Got a competition "brewing" on my annual camping trip...

Head to head vs. a friend - it's whatever comes first...10 Becks Darks (straight out of 12 oz bottles with no gimmicks/assistance of any kind) or 10 minutes. No puking allowed during the race or for 1 hour afterwards.

Any legit suggestions for preparation?
