This is very sad to hear.
Ive always been a huge fan of Kenyan distance runners and continue to be, but clearly drug use is now pervasive and its going to leave a very bad legacy on that nations running talents and achievements going forward.
Greed and the desire for riches in an increasingly competitive sport is the problem. Doping is the shortcut they are personally choosing to get there.
I don't blame coaches, these are individual athletes choosing to dope. I don't believe there is a systematic doping program in place. If there is its the worst one on record with busts happening almost monthly now.
AK is getting tough on testing which is why this is happening, and thats a good thing. Especially making sure that these positive results are reported out to media.
Kenya is a poor country and the temptation to cheat to earn a living is huge, so sadly I see this as a continuing problem.
