LOL. He never said he would run a WR or would be anywhere close! It is hilarious how badly you get the facts wrong. You keep citing his ambition to take all distance records but you didn't follow what he said before the race. Keep up Armstrong! You seem like a trump fan here!
If he wasn't up for it why did he go with that pace for 10k before completely running out of gas? He wasn't going for the record - he was merely stupid?
To break the Norwegian record, dumb*ss. And he succeeded.
He did it on basically a whim after a long season during an Olympic year and days after racing a 1500m. He also is specifically peaked and trained for the 1500m-5k distance. He's never even trained for any distance over 5k. I'm not reading into this result very much, especially on tired legs.
Don't even mention psychiatry. No clinical base. The only prededures they do have are destructive. The meds have worse repercussions than actually being mentally ill. Often these people use 'the force' the create diagnosis with generally no basis in reality but opinion. Go to a psychiatry convertion once in your life. They are all in some way either odd or eccentric or terrible or a mixture of the 3.

no offence, but I would trust a medical expert than some random strangers on the internet.
I think no one in their right mind would think Jakob would ever be dominant (or even competitive) in the marathon.
Jakob himself does (or at least he told it publicly after 3000m WR). So you are implying that he is either a liar or not in his right mind LOL.
well, he does like talking big, like how the half-marathon is his best distance, but I think any sane person would not take everything he says as gospel.
Actually NPD's do have an ego. It comes with an inflated sense of self, of personal grandiosity and entitlement. Trump is a clear example. But Jakob doesn't want to be left behind. He's way ahead of being merely cocky.
So Jakob is a narcissist and an egotist because he did the following?: Some time after winning the OG 5000m and breaking the 3000m WR he wondered how he would do in a current HM… He was of course not totally sure -never ran the event, missed 5 months of base training, the race was only 36 hours after the DL final, and his summer training has been towards 1500m peaking…. But on the + side: he had conditions enough to excel in the 3 and 5000m - maybe he with some luck could be dragged along by the very good field in a fast course. If he had the day. And if not he had at least made some excitement for his fans and himself… And he could on a bad day bail out with a NR 10k record…
Well, Jakob blew up.. But he forced himself to finish -maybe as a respect for his competitors and the arrangement..? -Is this a narcissist and egotist..? Really, Arms..?
He is a narcissist but that has long been established before he ran a HM.

No, you can't just diagnose a person through his online footage like that and that requires a professional to do do. Stay in your lane, Armstrong.
You haven't enough information to know yet whether Trump is a narcissist?
Seriously no, we haven't. It may be groundbreaking to you, but someone can be a despicable person without having any mental disorders. What you're literally doing is like seeing a lazy kid who always pays no attention and sleep through lectures at school and saying he has ADHD. No, it doesn't work that way.
He did ask for it. Reported comments have indicated he was up for the request for wr pace. There was a thread on it but you obviously never read it. It was why there were such high expectations of him. He didn't indicate it was just a "training jog" that he simply hoped to finish. He showed his intentions by going out at wr pace - and then he "blew up".
You are a pathetic liar. Here is an exact quote: "I am looking forward to testing myself in the half marathon for the first time in Copenhagen. Normally, it's a distance that suits my training well, but after a long season on the track, where I've been working towards the 1500 meters, it will be exciting to see if I can even finish, says Jakob Ingebrigtsen to the organizers."
"The organizer says this is a course where it's possible to set a world record?
I'm not part of that discussion (tomorrow, due to my preparations). I'm here to participate and have fun," says Ingebrigtsen, who will have his brother Filip as a pacer in Copenhagen."
You've conveniently forgotten that he has stated he wants all the distance records up to at least the half marathon. If it was just a training jaunt why did he go out with the wr pace that he knew had been asked for - and consequently blew up? He knew he was running at wr pace, so was part of the attempt, but what he didn't know was his own capacity: he is nowhere near as good at longer distances as he thinks he is. But that conforms with his very inflated sense of self.

Observing an extreme egotist or narcissist doesn't require specialised psychiatric diagnosis. It is observable in everything they say and do. Trump isn't merely "despicable" - his narcissism is off the charts and only the naive, gullible and wilfully blind can't see that.

no, you can't "observe" a narcissist. They can only be diagnosed. All you're doing is just add certain clinical labels to someone which actually undermines your point - because you're blaming their indecency on certain mental illnesses rather than them simply being jerks.

"Narcissism" is not a psychiatric term. It has long been in usage before appropriated by psychiatrists, coming out of its origins in Greek mythology. It isn't an arcane disorder, like schizophrenia, that can only be diagnosed by clinical experts. It is now little more than a label applied to extreme egotists, who are unfortunately all too common in public life and who make the evidence of their nature all too apparent to those who encounter them, through what they say and do. But if you wish to cavil at what has become an everyday term, perhaps you might find the description "a total wanker" more recognisable.

We are well past the point where letsrun mods should take contact with the old man Armstronglivs caretakers. Inventing stuff to get angry about is a new sad low. Lies, hate, ignorance. He is what he accuses everyone else of.
