Which race did you like most? Women's 10000 was fascinating for me - I was in the stadium. Also men's 800. Impressive. It was almost like looking from above. The stadium is so steep.
The women's marathon was unbelievable. I tried to follow the leading group on bike at the end, which was not possible. Just 15 minutes after the race I heard that Hassan has won. It made me almost to cry.
What were your impressions while following the races? Did you enjoy them?

Like you, I thought they were largely unbelievable, but for different reasons.
Congrats to Grant on a great season, maybe the best by an American distance runner ever? (Depends on whether you count 1500 as distance I think.) Stoked to see what he does next year

You've never heard of Billy Mills, Bob Schul or Frank Shorter?
Good for Grant, he had a great season and no one knows his body better than him. I know he doesn't do cross country so see him in indoor track. In the mean time he deserves a nice vacation. No one including the sponsors Letsrun thought he would medal and he did it twice. Good for you Grant.
The other part of this people are underestimating is the mental/psychological side.
Someone like Fisher literally spends at least 2-3 years dreaming about an Olympic medal, thinking about it during painful workouts, using it as motivation, obsessing over it.
Than you get it. Not once. But twice. Race of your life twice in a row.
Now what? Its nearly impossible to be the same level of fired-up after winning two Olympic medals than before.

There has been a multi-page thread on how his change in training has improved his performances. So what does this now say about the effectiveness of that training?
This says that he won two USA golds and racked up two global medals, and than ran out of gas
Reminder that Chep, one of the greatest 10K runners ever, the same age as Fisher, didn't even have the legs to run the Olympic 5 after the 10. No one else medaled twice. He had a remarkable season
Look at it this way. Be put his heart and soul into it the last 2 or 3 years into medalling. Then 2 weeks ago he met his goal. My guess his mind was not prepared for the 3000m Sunday. He was cooked. Time to call it a season. Right call. See u in 2025 Grant

How do you know how he thinks? Does he confide in you, or is this the usual bs you might spout because it appeals?

Why does that matter to you? I don't care whether you enjoyed the Olympics or not.
OK, I see you had a lot of pleasure while watching the races from Paris. Do you always have some favourites when watching a race? How do you choose them? All New Zealanders? You love Bol, correct? Someone else?
Grant Fisher bagged two (2) individual medals at the 2024 Summer Olympic Games in Paris, France. He ran through the line to claim 3rd in the Men’s 10k discipline before soaring to the same position in the shorter 5k distance.
Grant Fisher has earned a well-deserved break after leaving the 2024 Summer Olympic Games with two (2) individual medals.

No, I don't "love" anybody on the track. That's for simpering fans like yourself. But none of that has anything to do with the subject of the thread.
