This is ridiculous. Valby is a marketing dream. Massive social media following, pretty, American, and one of the all time greatest collegians, male or female, of all time. Nike will have her in the next month.

I think she must have bought into all of that VALBYMANIA horsecrap that people were feeding here. She needs to step back and take a HARD look at reality and stop listening to the Letrsun pundits.

Open your eyes. She just needs to take a deep breath and step away from the Letsrun message board which was giving her an artificial sense of fitness level. If she can just stay away from this board for a few months, things will normalize, and she will get right back onto the fast track of glory.
I was thinking about her after the race and whether she would be able to handle a better training schedule being away from Florida after college. I have someone I am training down there now, and it really is brutal with the heat particularly this summer to gauge any kind of fitness progression.
I give her a lot of credit for what she has done filling in with cross training when she can, but it has not been ideal which is why I think she has a massive upside if she can train consistently in an area like Flagstaff or somewhere else where the heat index is not over 95 every single day.

I think she should seriously consider stationing part of the year over in Europe, maybe in the Swiss Alps (like Battocletti), in order to run the Euro Circuit. The Biggest opportunity was before the OT’s or right after. Money is not there at this point. The reality is her family blew it for her. Three months have now gone by and she’s down 1/4 of the years pay. She had uneducated people around her and it shows.
