1. Their character and ego. They look down and diss their worthy competitors,
2. Biasness with regards to doping tests/ testing. Just tell me: honestly, what's Erryon Knighton doing at Paris even after testing positive? Does it mean bans are only meant for other countries and not USA? And even when there are bans, theirs are usually for a short period of time as compared to an instance recently where one Kenyan was handed 6yrs ban!!!
Well, if you pull for a runner throughout the year(s), it's hard to not pull for that athlete just because they're running against a fellow countryman/woman. Femke's talent and charm are magnetic.
Well let’s start by why don’t American athletes race outside of the US more?
Example why was erriyyon knighton cleared of doping allegations on the basis that he ate contaminated beef?
it’s sus we never see American athletes on the circuit alot then out of nowhere run fast times in Eugene either during trials or meets
they look down upon other competitors like that’s just wrong. Claiming US trials are tougher than the actual championships. That’s disrespectful to other worthy competitors and I’m glad shacarri was humbled yesterday and Noah today and in the 200 too
with all that there’s a few good ones who I don’t mind winning

"A few good ones..." This is the lingua franca of another era.
Not actively cheering against the US. Femke is just freaking cool and a great teammate. Basically showing what the Olympics are all about. She would be fun to hang out and have a beer with.
Why root against Syd? We are here on this forum because we love this sport, and when you have athletes that are dour, never look like they’re enjoying competing for a single second, don’t even want to compete, make questionable decisions regarding the coaches, and generally do nothing for the sport whatsoever… well, it’s easy to not root for them.
why is this important? Because sport is entertainment and Sydney not only isn’t entertaining but actively makes it look no fun. It’s a bad look for fans and it’s a bad look for her sponsors. Kersee alone makes you dislike her for making such a suspect choice. She should have known better.
And yes, I’m an American and was punching the air when grant took the bronze on ,friday and was happy to see the more mature shcarri take silver yesterday. So, no this has nothing to do with skin color
I was punching the air for Femke. Scared my dog. I also will be happy whoever wins the women's 400 Hurdles. Both great athletes. I did not cheer for Shacarri though. If you saw her getting kicked off the flight for being an entitled b8tch, you would have been hard pressed to root for her too. I will admit hypocrisy on the Dutch. I like Bol a lot, but I did not root for Daphne who I thought was an obvious doper.
That's absurd. Try telling us where you went. America is a big, diverse place and there is no single American culture, either inside or outside of bars. Sounds like you gravitate to the places that suit you.
In our Boston house there are four competitive track and XC athletes and we root for a lot of Americans all year long and in the Olympics. We prefer athletes who race, have a team spirit, and are visible. Sydney doesn't appeal to any of us despite her prowess because she fails in those aspects. We all admire Bol. Few who follow track regularly, or who race often, will relate with Sydney's live in a cave approach. Vernon Norwood? He's the house hero.
