To some degree yes but he had some shoving where he was seeking out contact on guys who’d passed him. Or doing it before necessary when sneaking by.

Agreed. A little shoving is expected but he was getting boxed repeatedly and barrelling into people to get out of the box. It starts to look like dirty racing. Then again, he's from the Brighton Phoenix club that was home to Steve Ovett so he might have learned from the best (his dad was also a dirty footballer, liked a foul and a yellow card)

I have to say (last comment on it), that this was a bizarre and inexplicable meltdown from Hoare. He's clearly not hurt - but to have two shots at making an Olympic semi-final and not be able to get the job done for a guy with his talent level? That is as big a meltdown in this event as I can remember. Tragic.

Yeah Olli should've at least made the semis after winning a diamond league. Who's left? Yared, Morgan, Geordie? Yared and Geordie medaling + Morgan making the final would make me think it was successful for the group overall, but I'm starting to worry that none of them will make the final.
