She’s a class ahead of Mu. She’s remarkably consistent and is a far sharper racer compared to Mu.
it’s a shame because Mu is a generational talent wasted by someone who doesn’t really enjoy the sport, and is poorly coached. In an alternate reality Mu would be the GOAT 800m runner. But so far she is flaming out.
I think both are generational talents, but only one of them right now isn't maximising their potential.
Not completely Mu's own fault, as she has had injuries this year, but she could have definitely done more over the past 3 years to make better use of her time.
Unsurprisingly, it's the bridesmaid who's the one that's moving the event on. Sometimes, too much, too soon can be a hindrance, not a benefit.

Has Hodgkinson effectively gone from 1:57x to 1:54.6 in a year?
Finally 1:54.61 has become possible clean.
That isn't the point being addressed. It is that her progression isn't anything like Gill's, which was the comparison being made. Whether 1:54.6 is of itself doped is another question. It may be.
if Mary were given the same condition, she would have run 1:55 minimum.
Moraa was given a 1:55 pace by Hodgkinson earlier this season and got left behind.
Big fan of both Hodgkinson and Reekie, but let's not forget that Moraa had Reekie well behind her at Pre.
The other 2 have progressed since, so no reason to assume Moraa won't have also. I think it's entirely fair to surmise that she'd have been sub 1.56 had she been in London.
KH clearly the favourite to win now, but you'd be a brave man to write off Moraa

There must be a reason she’s not raced much though. We have no indication of what form she’s in.
Only 5 women are faster, y’all thought I was tripping last year saying she was in WR capacity. Now look at her. Just the Gold Medal in Paris and She’d surpass Athing!!

Not sure why this is being upvoted. Kaylin Whitney went out in 55.22 at Pre Moraa ended up soloing the race/taking the wind until Keely went past her and smoked her. It was a shellacking but not at all like Reekie getting to draft on Keely the entire race. Respect to Jemma running the time, but Moraa is 7-0 vs her since 2022. It’s impossible to know what Moraa would’ve run in London because traditionally she’s been in front but against this version of Keely she might let her do the work OR go out much slower.
Agreed. I don't understand downplaying Mary Moraa. She doesn't fare well at Eugene, with a distant 3rd in 2022 and tired 4th last year. Otherwise she's got dozens of 1s throughout her past performance chart with an occasional 2.
If Moraa didn't understand she needed to go faster she wouldn't have run the flat 400 nine times by the middle of May. I don't think we know what she is capable of. The Kenyans historically cut down the schedule during an Olympic year especially approaching the Games. Moraa has not been active but neither has Chebet or Chepchirchir. In fact, Chepchirchir has been all but forgotten despite winning her Budapest semifinal last year and placing 5th in the final.
Hodgkinson knows she has to lead Moraa throughout the second lap. That's the difference from 12 months ago. Late rallies against Mary Moraa don't succeed.

By past performance chart you mean last year? All we have to go on for this year really is May’s performance at the Prefontaine. She wasn’t ill, there was no excuse why Keely zoomed past her other than Keely has got better and she appears to have stayed the same.
We know Moraa can run a fast 400m what we haven’t seen is that translate in to an 800 that is run non tactically and fast throughout - she could tactically outrun everyone last year and win for sure. She was very good at slowing down then speeding up. And many fell victim to that. But that’s not working anymore. So we need to see if she can go below 1.56. Her PB. Because to even medal she will need to, as we have seen.
I’m not writing her off but I’m wondering why we’ve seen her run only 2 800s this year. Neither particularly impressive. Then you guys say she’ll win? Based in what? Last year’s form? The fact she can run a fast 400?
She may have been holed up in Kenya perfecting her training. And come out and run a 1.54. There’s an outside chance of that I guess. But I’d be surprised.

The way to improve your 800m PB is to run a bunch of 400m races during the winter? Are all the other athletes missing a trick here?

That's a very strange conclusion to draw from the Eugene DL race.

Yes. Especially when Moraa is already fast over 400m. Make more sense to work on your weaknesses surely. She should have been racing 800s
No, I haven't. But you won't be able to follow the argument.
I am following it really well. You are a hypocrite.
I said above that running 1:54.6 she may be doping, even though her progression is not of itself suspicious. But because you are a stupid **** you didn't read it.

Not "it may be". According to you: it is
It isn't according to me. It is according to morons like you who deal in absolutes. I don't need dipsh*ts like you to tell me what I think.
