Not as much of a fall as some of the other names I've read on this list, but Jake and Zane Robertson were well known 5 years ago having both ran under 2:09 for the marathon. If you said their names now, the average response would be "...who?".

Dieter Baumann
King Ches
Not really distance but Brazier's downfall was pretty sudden and unexpected
And people aren't ready to hear this but Cooper Teare has arguably gone backwards since college.

Fall from grace only meaning that the runner was once at a very high level, then due to some circumstances became a very weak runner. I probably should have made that clear in the post, so my bad. Looks like Alan Webb is the victor if we're going by majority vote.
You don't understand the expression "fall from grace". It suggests a loss of standing or respect and in particular a show of poor character. You should simply have said, "who showed the biggest decline in performance".
David Mack ran 1:43.35 in the 800 then later was sentenced to prison for 14 years for armed robbery in connection with a bank heist.
As I said before, English isn't my first language, but I believed "fall from grace" to simply mean a loss of status, respect, or prestige, which certainly is a byproduct of performance decline. So I was right, from a certain point of view.

Anyone from:
Arcadia
Fayetteville Manlius
N. Fyfe and his brother from Canada. Both were deported from a country in Asia,
the younger bragged about sexually assaulting a woman in Mexico.
Both running 150/151 in high school and fell off the map.
Losers.

He's not even the baddest 800m guy in history. Look up Billy 'likes them knocked out' Konchellah.
Tim Danielson.
