Biden has late stage dementia. It's pretty obvious his mental decline has accelerated faster than Trump's. I voted for Biden but I would have voted for literally anyone over Trump (I have a daughter that I'd like to look in the eyes when she asks me about the Trump era when she grows up), and that was before he was a convicted felon. I think the Democrats can only improve their position by switching to another candidate.

i saw muir interview biden on d-day and was like, this is serious trouble. it's bull selling this as a cold. he's falling apart just like reagan fell apart at the end of his years.

he had 2 things going for him 4 years ago, he was seen as moderate and he was a potentially successful "not-trump." mostly, he was a practical "non-trump." if voters think he's senile, his practical use evaporates and on to the next one.

the man needs to get over some egotistical RBG idea that he alone is the anti-trump barrier. there are other dems who could beat trump. it does not have to be him nor is it even necessarily a true ego argument if the voters are ceasing to believe he's competent.

it's not kamala, newsom, klobuchar, or phillips.

to me it'd be inslee, someone popular from a battleground state, someone from colorado or the midwest. you want someone fresh where there isn't some built up fox news stereotype or trump script against them. you can already hear trump trotting out a newsom nickname, and hear fox news getting ready with the california tropes. you need someone under the radar that trump has to spend the summer trying to figure out how to undermine them.

you get someone out there likeable and who trump can't immediately smear and it's biden 2. trump will be his jerky self, drive off moderates and a splinter of GOP voters, and we will vote for a reasonable moderate other choice. it's the trap door out of flat coke vs. watered down pepsi we all wanted anyway.

and get kamala off the ticket. she doesn't help you win anything.

first, i think biden's people hid how bad he was getting. so with full information we are allowed a rethink.

You are 100% correct. Biden is Trump Light on 90% of policies. The only Trump policies he changed were on illegal immigration, and now he's backtracking.

If we got 8 years of Trump, we would be poised to have the FURTHEST LEFT president in history. The debate would have highlighted medicare for all, for example.

It would be someone like RFK or Bernie or Mayor Pete with a 10 point lead in the polls right now. Biden winning in 2020 actually hurt us long term.

I can't understand how Biden could decline so much in so short a time. Less than a month ago, the New York Times, the Washington Post, CNN, and many other top-notch media outlets were saying that Biden was almost at the top of his game; but now, only a few weeks later, those same outlets are saying he is incapable and should step down.

How did this decline happen so quickly?

My personal take on it is the the TRUMPERS have somehow infiltrated and tampered with Biden's medical prescriptions, replacing them with drugs that confuse and de-energize Biden. If so, it must be someone who is in Biden's inner circle, and is secretly a TRUMPER.

Hopefully, the FBI will be looking into this.

I'm sure if Biden was in a decline since his election, it would have been noted in the media outlets listed above, but since it wasn't noted, the conclusion must be that Biden's medications were tampered with (probably in the days leading up to the debate) by some far-right extremist group with ties to TRUMP.

He could simply have Trump arrested and say he is not eligible to run for election until the pending court cases are heard. Biden could cite section 3 of the 14th Amendment as a reason Trump should not be eligible. The whole blanket immunity idea is so dumb.

I really don't like when anyone is narrow minded or deals in absolutes. Be careful stating that 51% of Americans are going to vote one way or another, I have saved this, and will reference it after the election.

The actual Democratic Party is very weak now. The Republican Party is too and is now a Trump Party but that is a different issue.

I don't know the legal procedures how it would work.

What I wouldn't mind happening is (if the Democratic Party had actual power and unity) to have Democratic governors get together and work with the DNC and pick a couple candidates and the DNC try to work from there and either nominate a cadidate that most/all of the governors endorse or try to have another primary in states with the 2 or 3 candidates governors and the DNC endorse.
