How much we thinking he got? The details from his agent are pretty vague. Couldn't be more than 2-3 years @ $100K right (plus travel/gear)?
Would guess it's a 4-year. Most contracts signed now will cover the next Olympic cycle. Only mainstream exposure the sport gets, so no real reason to pay someone otherwise.
I'm wondering if Grand Slam is going to sign him next. Maybe he'd be better as a "challenger". Either way, I will bet he will be involved in the inaugural Grand Slam season.
He's got that permanent underdog status that drives interest. People want to root for someone who was overlooked, because they didn't have the pedigree or the typical linear success story.
Just as important, he's an 800/1500 guy unlike many of the 1500/5000 guys at the top. He could always surprise people in a one-off race or even double with no rounds to navigate.
I don't get the appeal of the guy. He could be a good runner while having a job and not living with his parents at 30 years old. Not sure why this is celebrated, it's lame as hell. So now he has a minimum two year contract with a D-tier shoe company in distance running. Congrats man, I guess. Maybe he can move out now.

This right here. Every single one of the athletes on this track are "trying to live their dream." He's seriously no different. Every single one of them has improved the last few years. He's no different.
He's just as much of an "underdog" as 95% of the athletes out in Eugene right now.
Tbh, let's hear more about Gabby Thomas' research, Gary Martin's major, Nia Atkins' interests, etc. Let's give our kids something to aspire to versus the unemployed loudmouth who complains about money and sponsorship.
