Merhawi Mebrahtu got the standard for Eritrea, thus looks like no Japanese men in the 10000 this year. Aron Kifle ran 27:09, a huge return to form but I didn't even realize he was there
Is it actually over? Meb getting the standard means one less ranking spot because Ndikumwenayo from Spain or the next ranking XC athlete that accepts gets in now for XC.
Right now there are 16 (now 17) people with the standard using the 3 people per country limit. Then 8 with XC.
After today that number is 25 qualified by standard + XC. So 2 spots are still open to ranking.
Tomoki Ota is currently ranked #1 outside of those qualified with Gressier from France right behind him.
Is there another result Im missing that will bump those two out of the ranking spots?

Ah yep thanks for the clarification, forgot about Ota, I was thinking of Jun Kasai. There is a possibility Dominic Lobalu will run for the ART in the Olympics because he still can't run for Switzerland because he's not yet a citizen despite WA recognizing his transfer of allegiance (IOC prohibits running for a country you are not a citizen of). I'm not convinced he will take the ART invite though so Kasai could still get in
Yomif in 26:31 over Aregawi, Barega jogged it in once he saw he had top 3 and still was probably around 26:35, Mehary outstanding debut (U20 record) in under 26:40. Yomif should be allowed to be double, but I wouldn’t have anyone else double.

Yomif won’t beat Aregawi when it counts, in Paris
Not so sure about that given Aregawi has never medaled on the track. Yomif is often underwhelming in championships but he at least has a worlds silver and some great indoors results in his pocket.
