Just had my last little listen of Joel's 32 min 10km run on the weekend. Never forget IRP paid you for a year on the 'road to nowhere'.
How quickly they forget. Nobody would know who JTW is without IRP. IRP promote the running community, FTK promote themselves. Also, what a surprise that two MTC boys don't appreciate the corrupt selection process being criticised. It is not unusual for the beneficiaries of the corruption to not see a problem and to take offence to any critique. IR have only ever critiqued AA, never heard them criticise the girls, in fact they have gone out of their way to always maintain that they feel bad for the 6 involved in the process.
Woah, easy there mate, Joel has run 62.03, every person in the sport knew who he was before he went on Inside Running.
Yeah he's got insecurity which causes him to giggle too much, but the guy can run.
Yep, he is a talented runner and is also humorous, but are you telling me the IRP did not boost his media profile? And now here they are bashing IRP for no good reason.

That goes both ways. IRP is getting very tired, it would be as dead as a door nail without guest hosts.

Perhaps, but to my point, they aren’t slagging off FTK on their podcast are they.
I listen to both IRP and FTK and FTK hosts are clearly immature, as though they never grew up or something. I thought I’d get cool insights from them re elite training and racing and mindset but they are simply a couple of clowns who were lucky enough to be blessed with a genetic gift for running. With their completely misplaced and frankly vulgar outburst towards IRP this week I’ll be giving FTK a wide berth from now on.

Blah blah blah both podcast have self serving interest who really cares.
Can someone please tell me why some athletes from Australia can get in to certain international races while others can't. Particularly races in Japan. Is this all because of Nic Bideau?

I don't know.
If Reece Edwards, a solid, but previously unknown athlete decides to start his own podcast, is that doing the dirty on IRP who gave him exposure?
Or is this life in a democracy, and people need to toughen up?
Huh? How many beers have you had, MV? Who said they shouldn't have their own podcast? Nobody has said that. FTK were bitching about IR on air this week, IRP would never do that, its unprofessional, even more so when IRP gave JTW his start in the podcast world.

You're taking podcasts way too seriously, chill out mate

Yes it is.
Another example. He sent his athlete Liss Duncan there a few years ago to join an ekiden team because of his relationship with agent Wataru Ogushi who wanted someone. She basically was thrown to the wolves...no support, REDS, injury....never returned to that form. His athletes get paid a load for all the pacing gigs.... In Japan. No idea HOW he came to have this power, but it's there. Would be interested to hear how newer agent Sean Whipp fares in Bideau's world...suspect it's not exactly easy.
Somewhat off topic but since we talking about NB and Brett Robinson, I think Robinson should be running faster than 2:07 regardless of the stitch issues. He never will but I would love him to ditch NB and train in Kenya or do some training similar to Phil Sessman & Emil Cairess. Feel like he's leaving something on the table by doing the standard MTC training and not highly specific marathon training.

Wasn't Whipp a sneaky double agent? I heard he was employed by the sporting body, but poaching athletes from their coaches on behalf of a shoe company.

'Highly specific' is massively over rated. I bet he'll be sub 2.05 in the next 2 years.
The biggest threat would be loss of speed. He's been bouncing quickly from one marathon block to the next without much investment in his speed.
With some time to breathe post Paris, he could get back to his 5km best, and easily take a chunk off his 10km best. Whether he gets good results from 3km to 10km doesn't matter, but he will get good return from the investment.

To the general listeners it seems that FTK are the ones throwing the first stones. People without patreon (myself included) have no idea what Brett and Joel are talking about with their complaints. Also denying that they haven't copied IRP is laughable. Their 'Road to' series is another example.
