Hicham El Guerrouj - still unreached 👑💎The double Olympic champion has won the 1500m at @Weltklasse Zürich eight times in a row - incredible!😮 Have you ev...
And since winning that one and only 1500m gold, he’s gone 0 for 3. So his advancing age hasn’t led to more gold. If anything, it shows that his one gold in that event was a fluke that came about from having another runner essentially serve as his pacer. Without such help, he has failed to win three times in a row. So it turns out you are the one who is unbelievably stupid for thinking he can get even close to El G’s 7 1500m golds just because of his age.
Advancing age? He is and will be 23 this entire season.
0 for 3? If you ignore his 2 5k WC titles. And every other race the past 3 years.
How old was EL G when he finally won an OG gold?
List EL G's "7 in a row". He lost 1996 and 2000 OG 1500's. Not counting those in the 7 in a row?
Jakob is just being himself. The last time he was injured was in 2020, the same year the Olympics was rescheduled for the next year. He recovered from his injury was unraced, however the coordinated that 2000m race, he and his brothers in Norway against a Kenyan Team with Timothy Cheruiyot. It wasn't the competition which was stacked on the Norway side based on the venues, it was the time Jakob ran in his first race of the season coming off an injury. He ran a 4:50 at the time a European record and one of the fastest times ever in his "first" race after recovering from an injury and he was only 19 years old. Based on his history there is no doubt in my mind that he will be prepared to do well. He is just a different kind of competitor and has been since he was like 12 :)
