We participate in a sport where it is harder than any other for women to compete with men, because there is no skill element for them to close the gap with, just pure athletic ability to run fast. And yet the best women in the world are about as good as an average D1 man. Is Cooper better than the average D1 basketball player? Quite likely. So it's quite likely he could beat Caitlin Clark. But the idea that he would completely dominate her, or that she wouldn't beat 99% of male basketball players is absurd.
Pay attention to lack of vertical jumping ability, almost all female basketball players. Pay attention to lack of quickness, almost all female basketball players. 1) I have never been classified as a distance runner. 2) I would not make my analysis based on T&F.
The reason why T&F comparisons are helpful is that we can actually measure T&F performances. There are not complicating factors like size and weight to factor in.
It appears that there is a consistency between the world's best female T&F athletes and the lower end of elite HS boys.
Again, this does not translate directly to one on one basketball... but would indicate that Caitlin Clark could probably take on a random HS guard who is her size and do ok against him. Probably struggle against a really good one.
What I can't stand are the clowns who think that THEY could just get off their couch, walk out there and beat Caitlan Clark one on one. Suffice it to say that I bet she could beat 75% of the people who post on this site.

I played basketball at a big D1 highschool and every single player on our team, including the bench warmers and team manager, could beat her at 1 on 1. Our coach could have beat her. She could take on sixth graders who have not gone through puberty yet, but that's about it. Now she could win at at shooting competition, but that has a lot to do with her using a smaller size ball.

"a big D1 highschool" 😂 what a sad miserable clown you are. have you really been hurt that much by women that you need to embarrass yourself like this on a public message board over and over thumping your chest about how great you are compared to female athletes? stop making crap up and thinking you are cool for saying you could beat a female. the more you do it the more it seems clear you couldnt. you wear that insecurity like a tumor.
Cooper needs to stay in his lane. Is that bragging rights to say you could beat a woman? That’s trans crap like the swimmer in the Ivy League. Worry about yourself Cooper. You have a job to do, and it’s not thumping your chest about beating a woman. Maybe focus on out Bud Lighting Dylan Mulvaney.
So should he lie and say he'd lose or just refuse to answer the question? If you watch the clip that started this all it's pretty clear that he's not worried about anything and isn't bragging or thumping his chest. A bunch of people asked him about it and he thinks she'd score some on him but he would come out on top. If she was actually willing to do it he thinks it would be fun. A lot of elite athletes are supremely confident in themselves and love to compete. Start any question with "Do you think you could beat...?" and the answer is usually the same. "Yes, let's do it."
You want Real Talk: 15 years ago, my rec league put together an "All-Star" team that took on the Eagles in a charity basketball game at a suburb Philly high school. Was it their starters? For the most part, no. We are talking about Hank Baskett, Omar Gaither, Quintin Mikell, AJ Feely, etc. We, a group of 25-40-something weekend warriors, kicked their ass. They couldn't dribble, they couldn't pass, they surely couldn't shoot the ball. All they could do was dunk. Now, every single one of them could dunk, even the 350 lbs. linemen, but that is it.

I'm not hurt by women at all. I love women. I would probably even love you despite being a cantankerous one.
It's telling there is a thread about this versus the countless NFL players saying they could get buckets in the NBA or the NBA players saying they could play in the NFL. Why are there no threads about those stories? We all know why.
No disrespect to Clark, but of course DeJean would win. All he has to do is work the ball down low, and he should score every single time. If he knows the game fairly well, there’s no way she could stop him.
He would win but he's not that much bigger that her. He's listed at 6'1 - she's listed at 6'0. But he can jump way higher and he's way heavier / stronger. Plus he's quick as hell.
He could just back her down and then do a fadeaway layup most times.
He averaged over 20 a game in HS. Cross sport analogies don't always work but let's say she's the Faith Kipyegon of basketball. He needs to be a 4::08 guy to beat her.

Mostly correct. But
1) No, she would get destroyed against a really good one.
2) No, she could beat 99% of the people who post on this site.
She's a great player. Very skilled. Her performance against Steph was no fluke. And male athlete to female athlete comparisons are inherently silly.

There is absolutely no way Caitlin Clark is 6'0
She is listed at 6’0”. I couldn’t find her vertical leap measurement, but the average for the WNBA is 14 inches compared to 38.5 for DeJean.

She is listed at 6'0 but all heights are typically exaggerated on rosters. At pro days/combines, players are measured without shoes, hence Cooper's 6' 1/2" measurement. Based on some pictures of her next to her brother that plays football, who is listed at 6' 2" (also probably an exaggeration) I'm guessing without shoes she is 5'10"

Either way, she’ll be dunked on every single time, and will never get a shot off.

Facts!
If they actually did play, and they won’t, DeJean will let her shoot some jumpers and he’ll take some as well. He would look like real jerk if he went all out:
