Interesting that it is almost exactly 10%. 31:05 is 1865 seconds. 10% of that is 186.5 secs. 3:06.5 secs. Ostrander was 3:06 behind.
The current difference between the 26:11 and 29:01 WRs is 10.82%. Which illustrates how much the top-level athletes are doping, that they have separated themselves from the next level of non-doped world class runners by almost the difference BEING A MAN makes.

If I run a race solo like that, it could easily be a minute off a track 5000 time trial. That hobby jogger 5K was 60 seconds slower than her track PR. Her fitness in a track 5000 might be near her PR fitness.
oh get a grip, I said her pre Worlds tune up was a 16:16 - which it was. She even called it that. And that's all we have to go on for indicators of her fitness.
Check the results: she was beaten by 10x women with slower PR's than her. 30th sounds good, but I don't believe her fitness is in that great a place, nor do I believe the field was very deep.
and btw, if you in super shoes would really be a full minute off your track 5000 time, you've got to sort your racing out.721 -

Thats a tad misleading. I think this race says shes in 15:20 shape. Note everyone was roughly 2:20 or so slower than their 10,000 PBs. If you go one up and one down you can see that the PBs are better than the two immediately around her
Jacobs 15:20 PB (recent)
Mihara 15:33 PB (not recent, and only age 21)

Campbell - 15:31 PB (seasoned runner, great run for her, based on her track form would not expect faster than 34:30)
Xaba - 15:25 PB, 68:37 recent half suggests 15:00 - 15:15 shape

Good try, but come on, how many of the world class runners are "non-doped"? Sure, Allie was only popped for canrenone and only served a 4 month suspension but where there is smoke there is often fire, even if Allie isn't fortunate enough to be a super responder to some of the PEDs like many of the dozens of people that finished in front of her.

All I said was that this race equals 15:20 shape. I definitely wasnt making it sound like it was some breakthrough race, just that its worth 15:20 and not 15:30. Its just a solid race for someone getting back into form. She's getting there, but is very far from making a US olympic team at the moment. I look forward to seeing her in the steeple but US distance running is strong at the moment. It will be tough.

Her race was kind of on par with what most of us expected plus or minus a handful of places. The real question is what does she spend here spring training for? She's sponsored by NNormal to race trail races. Her best event historically has been the steeplechase. Her current fitness is geared mostly towards 10k/10,000m.
People suggesting she's in 31:45-32:05 10,000m shape aren't too far off and she could possibly make the trials in that event or even the 5,000m. She'd probably need ~15:25 for that event. Steeplechase seems too far out of the real of possibilities as she hasn't done any skill training for that in several years, but the talent is there, but maybe not enough time to train and get a qualified mark.

She’s running repeat 300s in 48…
…so steeple is not out of the question.
She said that she has a 1% chance of making the Olympics (which is probably pretty accurate). That 1% is in the steeple

Not sure if you think a 30:30 or a 9:20 is more likely for Ollie, but I'd take the 9:20 as long as she hurdled the hay bails this weekend.

Paraphrasing, but she has said in past interviews that she did minimal (if any) hurdle training in college when she won those three NCAA titles—it came naturally for her. She ran hurdles in middle school.
At world cross, she said she did the hurdle first barrier/run around the second technique.

So a 9:37.65 for 4th place today at Payton Jordan, finished 4th behind Halladay 9:27 and Wayment 9:30. So she gets the Olympic trials standard! I think the steeple is in her sights. Still will be tough. Solid run, only 10 seconds off her PB.

And I was literally pointing out that this isn't news because she has been making videos of herself training for the steeplechase for a while and said that she was trying to make the qualifying mark. If what you meant to say is that the steeple is within her reach, that's one thing, but to say "I think the steeple is in her sights" suggests that there was this sudden revelation by you that she is now going to attempt the steeplechase, which is a day late and a dollar short.
Words have meanings, use the correct ones to convey your thoughts.
