Drinking, gluttony, gambling and drugs are not political issues. They are side effects of disenfranchisment in a society where the rich and powerful have relentlessly grabbed everything in sight for themselves relentlessly since 1980 when Reagan and William Casey took over.
Those are the real issues politicians should be try to deal with. Every social issue I’ll is a mere reflection.
Read the The Fall of Rome. It's a cyclical issue that occurs over and over since the beginning of time. Very much like global warming, it happens over and over again and again. You can try and minimize the consequences, but you'll never solve the problem.

Hey, that was really cool how you snuck in an extra layer of ignorance into the discussion.
Nobody has to glorify drinking, doing drugs, gambling, or gluttony. Those activities have defined wild partying for centuries.
You may not like it, but it's not going to lead to the downfall of humanity. And please stay out of my business if I choose to do some or all of those things after 30 years of hard work to get to a place where I can do what I want.

Yeah OP; some of us work hard for that evening cocktail. Go fvck yourself OP. Sorry for partying!

Good job!
It used to amaze me how low the mental capacity of some posters is.
You know a society is on its last breath when things like gambling (sports betting), drugs (weed), and prostitution (Only fans) become a huge part of the economy and is actively being promoted by the government. The rich gets richer while the poor fights amongst themselves for the little resources that are available. It’s only going to get worse from here.
How is the government ACTIVELY PROMOTING these activities. Legalizing these activities and allowing individuals to do what they want is very different than promoting them. Obviously there are negative consequences of these activities but in what world should it be the governments job to tell people what they should or should not do.
The ones that kept liquor stores and dispensaries open while shuttering gyms.
That's a good point (aside from the rebuttal that one can still exercise without going to a gym).
To follow that line of thinking, a parallel example of covid shutdown policies favoring drug access over constructive meetings, they kept churches open and closed schools.
The way we (the public) allowed ourselves to be completely run over by the government's C19 policies should scare everyone. It showed that no matter how nonsensical, no matter how self serving, no matter how ridiculous THEY can make us do pretty much any thing and we have to take it.
Name a period in human history where those things weren’t a big part of the economy.
Many times, but I'd look to Tudor or Victorian England for starters
Ah yes, Henry the 8th!
The glutton who consumed 5,000 calories a day, liked to lop off his wives heads, actually beheaded 70,000 of his countrymen, had a personal hygiene team to wipe his ass, drank gallons of wine per day, started his own religion to accommodate his sins, and lived half his life with puss seaping out of his infected leg.??
