What do you want from the institution you attend for college? Do you want to connect with a Network of like-minded people or run on a team competitively? All things to consider, you have 3297 other institutions of higher education to still look at as possibilities.
Either tweet that Israel shouldn't kill 10000+ civilians or that a man can never become a woman. Both apparently are literal violence and should get you expelled.
It’s difficult to understand your post, but I think you are asking where else I applied. I applied to 7 schools. I’ve been accepted to all I’ve heard back from - MIT, GaTech, Harvard, Notre Dame and Duke.
Wow an answer, but perhaps trollish.
If you applied ED to Duke, you should have applied regular decision to the others, so you would not have heard back yet from others.
Also why apply ED to Duke, if you're taking a shot at MIT and Harvard?
If you applied ED all over the place then you were ethically wrong then, and now withdrawing at Duke.
If you are real, you have your answer that you can withdraw your ED offer at Duke and attend one of the others. Don't tell Duke you already know where you are going.
If you are a runner, Harvard obviously quite interesting these days and MIT is a historically good d3 team.
Obviously, you don’t know how this works. The ones I’ve heard back from (other than Duke) I applied EA or REA. So, yeah. I’ve heard back from them.
c'mon dude, be real, this is either a troll job or you buried the lede. i applied 1 school ED but soured one it, is one type story, a sincere moral quandary. i applied 11 places including one ED is either trolling, humblebragging on duke, or asking us to play criminal defense lawyer on will you get punished for flouting the rules. because a sincere person would have noted the other applications and maybe even named them to aid the advice.
nah deal is we should probably feel as fibbed to as duke does. assuming it's not just made up.

my post is hard to understand? whatever. you know what's really hard to understand? why someone who supposedly got in harvard and MIT is even talking to an internet board about how to handle duke. if you are that bright you should be able to sort out the legalities and moralities yourself, and the comparative pecking order speaks for itself.

This is from the MIT site. Clearly you violated the intent of the program.
However, if you apply to another school during Early Action that does have a restriction, MIT requires that you respect those rules. So for example, if you apply to another school that is “single choice”— meaning that you can only apply there during the early period—you may not simultaneously apply to MIT, and if you’re admittedsomewhere “binding,” then even if we admit you, you must go there instead. So choose wisely!

you have wasted people's time.
He has to be trolling. There's no way his school's college counselor would have allowed him to apply to the 3 of Duke (ED), Harvard (REA), Notre Dame (REA) at once.

ED is binding but only because you can't apply to any other schools. The schools are in a system where they share the ED information to ensure that people like you don't lie about not applying to any other schools. Duke would have kicked your application out as would the others have done the same thing. You are then prohibited from attending any of the schools for one year and likley forever. You continue to add to this hoax. What is your supposed question? If you have been accepted at other schools, you wouldn't be here asking what to do about Duke becuase that is the only repurcussion.

You absolutely can apply to other schools EA and apply to one ED at the same time. In fact, in my Duke acceptance, it said that I must contact any other schools I have applied to and withdraw my application from them.
Thanks to the people who responded earlier in this thread with good suggestions. These last few have been interesting to say the least. Why respond when you don’t know what you’re talking about?
When my grandpa was your age he flew to france to fight nazis for 4 years then came home and ran a small business and supported a family. And here you are circle j--king off on the internet about hesitation regarding which college you want to attend.
So to be clear, you only applied Early Decision (ED) to Duke, and Early Action (EA) to the others? If so, you are technically correct that they are permitted to apply ED to one (1) school, and concurrently apply EA to any other school.
HOWEVER, Restricted Early Action (REA) is exactly that - restricted. If you apply to one school through REA, you are NOT permitted to apply to any other school through any early application process - neither ED nor EA.
So, if you applied to Duke ED, Harvard REA, and Notre Dame REA... then you done f*cked up, and you better hope that none of these schools catch wind of all this.
If you are applying to Harvard under Restrictive Early Action, you may not apply to any other private institution under an Early Decision, Early Action, or Restrictive Early Action plan, or to a binding early program at a public university.
Additionally, you are able to apply to other universities under their Regular Decision or Early Decision II programs.
From Notre Dame's REA page:
A student applying Restrictive Early Action to Notre Dame may apply to other Early Action programs at either private or public colleges or universities.
A student applying Restrictive Early Action to Notre Dame may not apply to any college or university (private or public) in their binding Early Decision 1 program.
If you apply to Notre Dame through REA, you may apply to any Early Decision 2 program as this has a deadline post our REA decision release in mid-December.
It is expected that should you apply to an Early Decision 2 program and be admitted to that school you would immediately withdraw your application to Notre Dame as this is a binding agreement to that other institution.
DUKE ONLY OFFERS ONE ED APPLICATION ROUND - it is Early Decision 1, and the acceptances release in mid-December, before Notre Dame's REA decision release. So yes, OP, if everything you said is complete and true you have messed up. Not really sure where the parents and/or academic advisor is in all of this but clearly they were either not supervising or incompetent.
Pick a college. Do it soon. Accept it and matriculate immediately. Rescind you applications to all other colleges immediately following. Hope these schools don't figure it out.

Well, I got accepted to all three. But that may be my way out of Duke. Thanks!

Not really sure how or why this is the conclusion you drew from my post but sure, knock yourself out kid.
