5 hours of the meet was livestreamed on YouTube, but unfortunately the stream ended right before 5k was about to start. Makes no sense to me. They ended the stream before the most anticipated races were about to begin.
Tuohy has a higher ceiling. Lets see Valby get better.
Sorry but anybody that thinks Tuohy has a higher ceiling than the girl that just ran 14:56 off 3 days of running a week is delusional. Whether she reaches that ceiling remains to be seen
It's hilarious to watch that guy make a fool of himself. One desperate comment after another today, in various threads.
But so predictable. He was also scared of any praise toward Markezich so he took some pathetic swings at her as well, downplaying her performance long before Valby ran.
Once he took that route I knew we were in for a whining denial treat once Valby dominated.
You got to remember, after Parker Valby broke her foot, she came out and ran 15:20 from just pool running. So she said that in the post-race interviews, indicative of her being as shocked about it as everyone else. But then people came on her and said “no way”, “she’s making that up”, etc. etc.
My point was that I think she very well could have bern conveying genuine surprise, whereas, a few here interpreted it as her being deceitful.
People are really underestimating the training effect one can get from arc trainer. It easily surpasses doing mediocre paced miles to fill in the mileage jar. Look at her form. Arc trainer is the way to go. It works all limbs and some core.
Huh? I said Markevich is running very well and said so more than once.
And I praised Valby. Does not change that I don't think it is materially better than what KT showed last year at her best and that I like KT's long term prospects more.
We cannot all have your spotless track record, with Chemusto etc. :). What did you think of today's new addition btw?
Just go away. Valby broke the all time record. She is the fastest in history but you downplay it and bring Tuohy into the thread. Go back to the Tuohy threads. Oh wait. Those are drying up because she is turning into a has been.
Valby seems so much more approachable than tuohy and she is less busy only running 3 days a week, but then again maybe there's too much competition for her heart everyone's in love with her, and also i don't know if i could get over the whole florida thing. There's kind of a tragic thing to tuohy now, the once champion now being ignored in favor of the blonde crowd pleaser, and you know how much i love tragic girls, but then again valby...

"less busy"? she seems to work out in some fashion at least 6 days a week. Just not many of those involve running.

Oh please…. That type of training is specifically suited for her because she can’t run easy mileage. If you can, you should run more mileage in the right program.

No one on this board has done more to generate negativity around Tuohy than astro. The guy poisons every thread he joins.
Yes, at the Paris Diamond League race in July on a 400m track. Not on a 200m indoor track in December against a group of collegiate runners. Valby's performance today was superior to Koll's, only 0.35 seconds slower.

So you think, for a race that is over in 15 minutes, she should go out and tack on easy junk mileage on top of her hard cross-training days?

I am neither really a fan of Ms. Valby or Ms. Tuohy, but I don't think this is true. Ms. Koll didn't have the newer shoes or a track that can be modified to make whatever distance you're running even faster by banking the turns. Just physics in my observation, not trying to besmirch Ms. Valby. Excellent performance. But in terms of effort, Ms. Koll probably was a bit better. Plus, Valby had company for most of the race and could see runners getting lapped as motivation, etc.
