He turned down the CSU job with a huge pay raise because of loyalty to the Mines program.

I ran for Western and remember running against Brosnan in CC and Track when he was at Adams. Years later I have a family and son who started running and I see Brosnan is one of the most successful coaches in the US.
So I went to “try and find” results. It was difficult because Brosnan and I ran pre live results and results then are hard to come by. I somehow came upon these old results in the 90’s from Azusa Pacific U website. The Occidental Invite.

Brosnan ran 3:52 in the 1500m , 1:55 800m and 15:02 5000m for Adams his sophomore year. All on the same day. That’s a solid workout day in my old book. I know I ran against Brosnan because he was actually one of the nicer guys at Adams. Most of the Adams guys took the Western / Adams way too serious. Brosnan was always cool with us. I think he also was friends with my teammate Jen Michaels who is now the current head coach at Western.
