I can’t see Wiley improving all that much in her current situation.
There were many people saying the same thing a year ago, and look how much she has improved since then.
Very dramatic progression too, like 13 seconds in the 1500. Now wasn’t there another athlete who did basically the exact same thing this past year? Whoever could that be? Oh yeah, it was Janet Chemusto. Guess she will be competing next year, oh wait…
I mean she did finish second in the 1500 at the USATF meet and qualify for the WC. She beat other US runners that have qualified for WC before such as McGee, Johnson, MacLean. I think that meets the criteria for world class.
Eh, until she makes a team, she's national class.
Pascal Dobert is no longer with BTC, I believe he's with Puma, but not sure if he's coaching. Eitherway, he'd be the best bet to teach her the ropes in the steeple since Team Boss is likely out of the question. Unless Robert Gary or Tim Broe want to take a chance on a midwesterner? Steeple is her path to world class, end of story.
What does this mean? Gary and Broe are totally Midwest and Gary coached Dan Huling. All three prepped in Illinois.

That's what I'm saying. She needs a steeple specialist ASAP. Dobert, Gary, and Broe all come to mind. Is anyone willing to take a chance?

It's just the way you word it sounds like there's a possible downside to training a Midwest steepler. Also Evan Jager came from Illinois. Andy Bayer from Indiana was pretty good too.
She will always be looked down upon for staying with a coach who was accused by multiple athletes Nick doped them and and a coach who raped his athletes. Let’s not forget about Lauren who knew this was going on and never said a word. Addy will never be cleared in people’s mind unless she get out of that mess.
Here. And here means nothing.
Wiley simply hasn't done enough yet. She is competing at low collegiate level, didn't make the national team, and ran a couple of fast times at the end of the season when few were paying attention.
Flop that to big success when it matters, and Wiley is embraced...other than here.
The doping dunces here will be whining and dismayed that not everybody is clutching their cynicism like the last branch on the way down.
Even if this were Nick, would the statement be wrong?
It looks like you've forgotten which of your usernames to use. It must really be confusing to have such plethora of different usernames and to forget who you're responding to and which one to use.
I was replying to the person at the top of the page who was waving to and saying “Hi, Nick” because the poster wrote “There were many people saying the same thing a year ago, and look how much she improved since then.”
So, doubting that the poster “Since You Brought It Uo” is actually Nick, I said “Even if this (the poster “Since You Brought It Up”) were Nick, would the statement be wrong? And, the answer is that it’s absolutely true that many people were saying last year that she had to get away ASAP, yet instead of immediate destruction she had a great year.
The doping accusations were most credible before all the stories came out, which was when she was in high school and ran a record 4:27. Yet, after her freshman year in college, when she was being tested regularly because of those stories, she turned around and dropped 7 seconds in the 800m and 12 seconds in the 1500m. That is not what you expect from someone who was already being doped. No one who rises that fast and stays healthy is close to the top of their improvement curve. At 20, she has just started racing sub-4 and sub-2 athletes. There is more to come here, believe me. You don't improve that much when you are nearing your peak. The drops become smaller each year. That still leaves her a great deal to improve. She is going to run in the mid-3:50s and mid 1:50s next year. After 7 and 12, the drops might be 2 and 4 seconds, which will put her solidly into world finals and give her a shot at a medal. More competitions with top level talent alone will allow her to drop her times significantly.
Great points. They don't like facts. Astro accused her in high school. That is disgusting. Then she made a big drop and he accused her again. She will do it again when turning pro. He will continue. Meanwhile, Tuohy disappears amd he will get even angrier.
Are we seriously having the discussion of someone's NAIA XC titles comparing to someone at the same age already being Olympic Champion in a front run 800m AR followed by a 48.xx 4x400 split en route to a second Olympic gold?

Apologies if any of that was confusing to you.
Are you just intentionally being obtuse? No one was saying she needs to get away ASAP because they were worried about her long term track and field development.

While astro may be a super-fan and prone to hyperbole at times, it's not like he made up doping allegations out of the blue.
