teare is from Cali. would he really be willing to move to Va?
hocker is from indiana, so not that big of a stretch. will be interesting to see
What does that have to do with ANYTHING? You go where you need to go.
You're clueless!
except what was everybody's reaction to moving from portland to eugene? location does matter. it's not everything, and maybe he's gonna be fine with it. they will probably be off at altitude camp for 50% of the year anyway. but it's not a non factor in the consideration.
Look at the 2023 Budapest World Championships results, the nations which won medals. If 800 to 5,000 USA runners are jumping ship for another USA location and coach thinking it will make a big difference at this late date, maybe they should either double-down on what has worked for them in the US, or move to Europe or Africa for the next months.

Yeah when you run for one of the best teams in the country and the coach takes another job and moves somewhere less desirable than where you were, it isn't weird to be a bit put off.
It also isn't weird to tag along for awhile and see if it works out.
Finally, also not weird if after awhile you realize it isn't working out and you move on.

This is a great point, and I think likely explains the lastest group of athletes leaving.
what I find interesting is presumably if anyone on BTC would be okay with being in Eugene - it would be Teare. He was the only one on the roster who went to Oregon, so presumably knew/liked the city and was essentially continuing how he had been living/training before.
this points more to it being an issue with Jerry - either the rigid training structure, lack of racing, or split coaching duties (or all 3)
