Dude was decked out in Colorado garb at the Virginia Invite, but that was back when Colorado had a good football team. Maybe he will be back for PreNats this weekend???
Oh, c'mon fellas, haven't you figured it out yet? Deion Sanders will be Cooper's coach.
Hot off the presses from an inside source out of Blacksburg, Cooper Teare is leaving Bowerman to train under Ben Thomas again. He will be splitting his time between Flagstaff and Blacksburg
I could see him leaving btc & going back to old coach. He didn’t have a great showing under jerry & he is probably impatient going into an Olympic year & wants to go back to something that works. His gf would probably like to get on a pro team but to my knowledge she isn’t even signed to a brand. On ig They seem like a committed couple that’s trying to find a pro environment that works for both of them, not just what works for Cooper teare. I’m not sure where cooper is from but I know the gf is from va (I know this bc when she was in hs she dated drew Hunter lol. She’s a conventionally attractive woman who seems to have a serious case of speed goggles). So them being in va to visit family & possibly look into laying down roots there isn’t a strange concept. I guess he’ll make a statement soon
I doubt it has anything to do with Rachel’s pro career. Cooper has the potential to make hundreds of thousands of dollars a year. Rachel is a borderline pro runner who would be lucky to ever get any kind of deal. And if she ever does it won’t be for much money. It’s good it seems to work for both of them but if Cooper thought he was going to have great results with bowerman, there’s no way he’s leaving because of Rachel’s pro prospects. Or lack there of.

I don’t think he left btc bc they wouldn’t bring Rachel on. I think he left btc bc he wasn’t racing well. Rachel recently got Achilles surgery with the hope it will help her future running career. This must mean she thinks she has a future in the sport and needs the right coach/team/setting to fulfill her potential. I think Cooper believes in her and wants to support her goals as much as his own. If they’re the committed couple they pose as on social media then they will be looking for an environment that works for both of them. also anyone saying coopers piece looks small in that photo must only watch porn.
If she can run 4:06 or 15:20 and qualify for trials, she would be a better investment for a brand than any other runner on the line. She’s a 10.
She's definitely a pretty woman. There are a whole lot of pretty women in this sport. I don't know of any runners with legitimate pro contracts (e.g. more than just maybe free gear or other fringe benefits like that) just due to their looks. Plenty of very good looking people that are working as teachers or otherwise -- I don't think she can count on that for a pro contract. Certainly some athleisure/athletic brand influencer money, though. But if she gets like a Vuori deal, I am not considering that "turning pro" in the sense that she could join a group like Bowerman. Legit Olympic contenders have gone without contracts -- Cravont, Fauble, etc. C'mon.
Also, "4:06 or 15:20" -- her PRs are 4:13 and 15:53 and she's 24. She was a fine enough college runner but was sort of on the fringe of qualifying for NCAAs and NCAA finals. She isn't going to be on any USATF final starting line.
Don’t know I’d Cooper leaving BTC is true or not. But if he does it won’t be the only departure.
The athletes don’t like Eugene. They signed with BTC to have a coach. Regardless if the trolls here think having a coach’s presence is important or not, for the BTC runners it is and Jerry just isn’t around enough. Look for a few more folks departing.
We will see if this is true. Ben Thomas is a good coach for mid distance and 5k. Teare is one of several examples of 5k runners thriving with his coaching. Could be lots of reason for leaving BTC, but very few will ever know the real reasons.
Leaving Jerry after one year is premature. He takes two years to get it done. What happened? Cole Hocker ran 3:30/3:48.
Leaving Thomas was premature. I was shocked he went to BTC. He had one of the best collegiate track seasons in recent memory and placed 4th behind some extremely good competition at the Olympic trials and then decided the grass was greener.
Nike is slowly unwinding BTC. Giving Jerry the Oregon job was step one of getting him off their payroll since Houlihan got popped. Will probably disband during Paris similar to when Alberto got the boot during/shortly after Doha world champs. Everyone will continue to roll off.
This has nothing to do with BTC. Coopers ego is too big to run for a team. Could have seen this coming he was bashing Jerry in every post race interview since joining BTC.
