You should come to the U.K lol Theres a whole running club next to me that refuse faster runners. They dont explicitly say they dont accept fast runners but when you go to their weekly long run sessions nobody wants to go faster than 5min kms and so you end up running alone. Then they ignore you and find one of their overweight friends to waddle down the road with while discussing the fact that they are going to buy a new pair of cliftons in hot pink as if its the "secret sauce" of distance running.
They are generally covered in KT tape, wear their club vest like some kind of official school uniform and walk anything that might be described as a hill.
They do some kind of interval session up and down a cycle lane on a Bypass road all together where they do 3 x 1km at 4:45km pace with about 5 mins rest between each interval. They even now do a walking session so the people who are too lazy to run can still meet up and talk but not actually get fit.
They wont wave at anyone whos not in their club or effectively moving like a 103 year old arthritic Pit Pony.
They are not nice people, its not that they dont care about the wave. its that they hate seeing people running properly because it shatters their illusion
