Pretty good group of out of state individuals. 7 sub 9:20 guys, 4 of which are sub 9:10. This group alone would make for a pretty deep individual invitational list, and they only account for 9 of the 33 individuals.

Milesplit seems to think woodbridge is the fastest course in the country
Considering that they keep switching courses so that they can find a faster 3M course, I would say it is a possibility that it is the fastest course in the nation.
However, I do agree in that it is not at all like running on a track

This year that last half appears to be about 20 full stop sharp turns. :)

on a serious note. Southlake Carroll and Herriman have been on a roll this season. Do you guys think their team times will beat Newbury Park 2019 and Great Oak 2019?

The debate over a "real cross country course" this early in the season has become tiresome to me. If people don't like it, just call it a 3 mile race then. Everybody still runs the same distance on the same course. Kids just want a fast time as a reward for their hard work over the summer. There is plenty of time to run the tougher courses in the middle/later part of the season. Blast Woodbridge now, you got Mt Sac and Woodward Park among others coming up. On a separate note, Woodbridge is not "the fastest course in the nation", not even close. There are too many turns. I personally ran two league finals at regional parks that were pancake flat, all pavement and no sharp turns that I would bet money would produce faster times. I also ran another XC race on a river trail that went straight for 1.5 miles, did a 180 turn, then back straight for 1.5 miles, with only a slight rolling aspect to it. That also would be faster than Woodbridge. And that is just me, I believe most people ran a similar course at some point in their HS career. Dual meets and tri-meets are often run around the HS campus, which is many cases is pretty flat. Now "fastest course for a nationally recognized meet" I would consider, although RunningLane is probably at least as fast. So I would give the same advice about everything in life. Stop complaining about anything less than perfection, and enjoy it for what it is.
The course is clearly lightening fast. about 85 or 90 percent on artificial turf, very small amounts crossing sidewalks, and the rest well groomed grass. Nothing close to 90 degree full stop turns. I would say no one will need to ease up at all at any turn on the course.
It was put out last year that this is intended to be the location/course going forward for this meet and the organizers had signed a long term deal with the park to hold the race at the location.
I would say that this course is as close to a three mile race on a track that you can have without actually being on a track.

Not full stop and easing up really depends more on the pack and scissor effect (there will be a bunch). There are at least (20) 90 degree turns and 2-3 spots that are kind of 180 degree sweepers.
