Loved that race from Caune. Reminded me a bit of my favorite all-time endurance performance, Anna Kiesenhofer's win in the Tokyo road race. Only difference is that you can't really forget about a breakaway on the track, lol. Guts, determination, strategy, and talent. What more can one expect from an athlete?
Got a little nervous when ~5ish, including Cranny, broke away from Monson. Still made it through in 7th though!
Any free links available? Thanks.

Phenomenal strategy from Caune, and I don't get why more slow/bad-kick runners don't employ it in qualifying rounds if things go slowly. Caune can run 15 minutes if she paces it evenly, she can't run 15 if the pack paces 15:30 and kicks the last two laps, she wouldn't have come top 8. Need more strategy like this!
Thing is, she didn't know she could run 15 minutes, she ran a PB in that heat. It's a shame she didn't sneak under 15 but it was a proper brave run. I wonder if she'll do it in the final
PR was 15:03.85 for Caune. Great run, future medalist.
One world record Hassan is going to set this meet....most minutes spent racing on the track during a world championship.
Chokers do NOT look good!
1500 final? 10,000m final? Back of the pack for me!
5000m heats? Gotta go to the front!
- Sifan Hassan
the stupid website for the champs is broken yet again. no results up for the 5k H1. Can anyone summarize the qualifiers?

Hassan is all over the place. No rhyme or reason to what she is doing race to race.

Cranny and Monson got through. 2nd 5k just started, for that one my picks are Hasan, Kipyegon, Hailu & Kaye from Ethiopia, another Kenyan, an Ugandan, Jessica Hull, Laura Galvan and Natosha Rogers (USA) It's gonna be tough for Rogers and Galvan.

Incredible that there hasn't been created an official thread yet.
What an impressive run by the Latvian!
How about you declare this the official thread?
I think Hassan has more races during this week than Sydney has had all season
