The start list for the final has been up for a while, so I'm not sure about what's the point of this thread.
New W(a)R(holm) on Wednesday though. 45.81.
You heard it here first.
Americans- if they can’t beat you, they’ll try to disqualify you.
When they start losing in the medal count, they come up with new and weird events in the Winter Olympics.
How about just using your energy to get better? You are a SOFT country.
In the recent swimming WCs - when America started losing (badly) to the Aussies in the medal count, they changed the table to do total medals first, so they were on top (instead of golds first).
Watch the Peacock streaming of the event. After the race, the NBC crew talk about Warholm being uncharacteristically sloppy on the first two hurdles. They show an inside camera shot of him clearly missing a hurdle with his lead leg. His lead leg was on the inside and run around the hurdle.
To be clear, that (lead leg on inside of hurdle) is permitted - as long as when it passes the hurdle it is above that level.

He wouldn't have cleared it straight on, it looked like he was out of pattern and intentionally swung to the inside. He was so low that if he didn't hook, I believe it would've been race over for him. People can say he should be in the final because he's the record holder but getting over the hurdles is part of the game, if he didn't swerve to hook, I'm 90% sure it was over for him so he gained a clear advantage imo.
Its not the same as putting a baby toe inside the rail in a flat race
He for sure hooked the hurdle. All of you saying it is not clear are equivocating. It is unquestioned. The protest went nowhere by the way. I hate that it went nowhere because it was a mistake he did not have to pay for. I love that it did not go through because anyone with 2 eyes knows Rai Benjamin is beating him. It is going to be an epic race. Someone said 45.81, and that will lose.
Officials are not so good at spotting these infringements or having enough evidence. I remember this from Tokyo, I believe it was an italian runner who hooked a hurdle. It was pretty clear too.
