I have a feeling Hassan only does the 10 or the marathon she wont hold up well in the 5k not with Kipyegon, Gudaf, Gidey and Chebet in the race.
I reckon the stranglehold kipyegon has on the 1500m is why Gudaf moved on to the 10k this year why race someone you've never ever beaten (even when they lose) one more time
Chebet didn't run the 10k at the Kenyan trials so her only option is the 5k
Well, this DL 5000 may be a deciding factor for Hassan. She did run a great 10 and backed it up with a solid 1500 six weeks ago in Hengelo, so not sure why you think she can’t hold up in the 5000. It’s true that Faith may be unbeatable in that race too. Is is clear Kipyegon is going to double? No chance Hassan runs the marathon when she’s going to run another in Chicago so soon after. Also, I can’t imagine Hassan only runs one event in Budapest.
Yes Kipyegon is doubling, she said so at the Kenyan trials just to "see whats possible for Paris" (sidebar does training with kipchoge automatically mean you start sounding like a fortune cookie?) I also think its wise she does so now a la el gherrouj in 03/4 just to get the experience.
Hassan might only choose the 10k because her 5k record is a bit fickle, I know she is the OC but she lost more 5ks against quality fields than she has won
Great field - just funny that that has got to be the whitest men's 1500 in recent memory

Hehe, Garcia as a Hispanic. Must be a product from one of those special schools.

Mario Garcia is a white European. Elliot Giles is half white, half black. North Africans (Habz, Mechaal) are kind of a grey area when it comes to our "racial classifications" but they are certainly not "black" or "asian". The US census would label them white.
That leaves Nuguse and Cheruiyot as the only two who aren't at least 50% white (or Mediterranean if you disagree with the US census).
maybe because he spent 3 years trash talking the American (and American-based!) 1500 guys? And now he'll likely get his doors blown off by at least one of them in this race.

Pretty sure north africans are not too of a gray area. They have several "races" there too. Primarily white, mixed, and a few black. Dudes like Habz, Moula, and El bakkali are basically white Med guys. Big difference is---ISLAM!!

I don't disagree, but someone who can't even accept that Spaniards are white is probably going to freak out when I call someone from the African continent white, so I was being gentle.
I wonder if Moraa was strategically excluded from this race. She's the most legit threat to Hodgkinson other than Mu who doesn't race. This is the big finale to the meet so they might have wanted it to be a challenge but not too much of one for KH.
Definitely looks like strategic protection for Keely. She races totally differently and more relaxed when the intimidating presence of Moraa is not a factor. Keely won't be reluctant to take the lead against Welteji.
The more I think about the Budapest final there's no reason Mu won't clear Moraa, as always, and set up a more calming race for Keely. Kersee watches the same races. He's not going to allow Mu to settle back as Moraa tries to slow the pace early on lap two. Moraa may be in for a bit of a shock as the strategy she has implemented throughout the summer is quickly nullified by Mu.
Their life head to head total is TWO RACES so quit the 'always' nonsense pal. While you are at it how about refreshing your memory on their 400m progression, Mary THIS YEAR is faster than Mu ran last year and Mu won't even dare do a 400m this year whilst she diverts her training to running a 4 min 1500m. It is over two years since she broke 50s; Mary might decide to race her to pole position, how much are you willing to bet that Mu the 1500m runner can stop her? Maybe Mary will develop a liking for the awkward edge of lane 1 too so Mu can run the final all in lane 2.

You could say the same about just about every major 1500m of the past couple of years. Just a testament to the improved testing in Kenya and Morocco and the not unrelated resurgence of talent elsewhere.
It's good that so many different countries and ethnicities are competing at the top again. That's what made the 800m so exciting for me when distance events were being exclusively dominated by 2 or 3 countries with zero testing..
You can't look at that field and think - 'oh look, Kenyans are obviously genetically gifted' or 'Moroccans are built differently', or 'only white guys can run fast'.
Scientific racists go home devastated.
The 800 and 1500 have always been races with successfull runners from several different countries and continents. With a mild domination of Kenya overall but nothing like 3000+.

'only white guys can run fast' - that's what you have claimed dozens of times.
You should make some walking on bare feet! You need to be grounded!
You have no touch with reality. Let´s see if Hocker can come back to his 2021 fitness before you make him a favorite for the gold. At the moment he isn´t even a medal contender.
Mario Garcia challenging Jakob? Watch the final in the European champs last year where Jakob easily outsprinted Mario in a race WITHOUT PACEMAKERS. AND JAKOB IS OBVIOUSLY ONE LEVEL UP FROM LAST YEAR.
If Hocker can run under 3:32 it will be a great result a month out from Budapest. I think he’s shown ~3:32 fitness in his 3:34-3:35 fast-finish races this season, and he should be trending upward if he’s healthy. If he runs 3:31.9 and is buried back in 10th place behind a slew of 3:29s-3:31s, the takeaway should be that with his kick he’s about a second’s fitness away from being a WC finalist, which is a whole lot better than last year.
Nuguse should simply follow the leader and try to win in the final 100, unless he feels spectacular with 300 to go. Cheruiyot is going to be tough to beat, and there are a bunch of other guys who could steal Nuguse’s lunch if he falters.
Cheruiyot could “surprise” here with a decisive win. It was only 2 years ago that he’d just run 3:28.28 and was considered #1 in the world. Injury hampered him last year but this season looks much better: some quick 800s, easy win at the Kenyan Trials and already a 3:29.08 where he nearly caught Nuguse at the line. He’s only 27 years old.
3:32 sounds about right for Hocker if the race goes fast, more likely he runs 3:33. Personally, I don't think we'll see anyone under 3:30. Jakob has pulled all these DL fields to great times this year, no one has even broken 3:31 in a race without Jakob. A lot of these guys are going to be watching each other, smelling their chance of a rare DL win in the absence of Jakob

Ever heard of 2019 world champion, Timothy Cheriyout?

In what world is Mario García hispanic? He is white and from Spain, Europe, or you call Italians hispanics as well?
