Tuohy is one of the best role models in this sport. Not an easy thing in this sport. The other is an embarrassment. You can autodelete it. Deflect it. Lie about it. But that's the simple truth. If you want to connect them so intently, excuse me for noting it. I mean, geez, at least wait until after college to pull this nonsense. No shame.

A true role model would follow through on her commitments. She committed to run that 5000 and then backs out at the last second.
Not sure why you're getting all the downvotes, because your post raises a solid point. If the coaches did dope up their athletes, which seems more likely than not, then the feelings towards said coaches should trickle down to the athletes who benefitted from it. At the very least, it's understandable why the athlete would come under fire for associating themselves so close to the program even after everything that went down with the Johnsons. The dismissive attitudes of many posters on here is incredulous because of how they react to African runners, Mo Katir, OAC, and other "dopers." If doping is seemingly as widespread as LetsRunners make it seem, then we should rightly look at the HU scandal as harder proof than anything against those I mentioned above.
Like Astro or not, he raises a valid point. To ignore it and downvote it without a second thought shows the hypocrisy of all involved.
You have the right to feel or say whatever but it’s just you post the same thing over and over and over again. We all get it. But dang…when the record starts skipping you get up and move the needle.
to say she’s an “adult” and let that stand as the reason she should have the book thrown at her and be treated like a pariah for life shows you either have a stone cold heart and/or have very little understanding of young people. I can assure you that the impressionability of a 16-20 something year old is nowhere near that of an “adult”.

Runners do this all the time. Athletes do this all the time. Who cares? Why run a race if you know you're not going to run well, especially at the championship level. CFB players sit out their bowl games all the time and get praised for it because they're looking out for their future in the NFL. Tuohy most likely doing something similar for USAs and her professional future.

What commitment? The only commitment any college athlete has is to themselves. Clearly things weren't right in Austin. Better to back off and live to fight another day.

This is just the first round...being able to save energy, especially a little bit of a kick, can make a huge difference in the final. Mu and McGee are playing it smart. The ones who get to the final with the most energy saved are the ones who will have the best shot.
I disagree with this…companies will absolutely line up to sign her.
You’re right and I agree with this only in the sense that are Nick and Lauren willing to let her go…like they should’ve when she originally committed to CU?

How do you know that she backed out?
Everyone always seems to think that if an athlete is a DNS or doesn't toe the line for whatever reason that they're the one making the decision. It may be hard for you to understand this, but the athletes do have coaches that decide these things.
