BTC is dead. Coach is focused on collegiate athletes, most of the professions don't live in Eugene, lord knows which assistant coach shows up for workouts? It is a mess. Why would anyone commit to BTC?
OAC has usually tried to avoid having too many athletes on the team who are in direct competition with each other for national team spots. With Josette and Monson already in the stable I'd be surprised if they added Touhy.
If they're committed to that model moving forward and looking to grow they'll probably add steeplechasers and/or women's 1500.
Tuohy to BTC seems as simple as the connection to Emily Pritt. Flynn Sports athlete service manager, deep ties to both NC State and BTC. That said, Tuohy is one of the top female athletes to go from the NCAA to pro levels since Jenny Simpson. Any training group would likely welcome her. It doesn't seem like there are too many proven choices to go from her current level to making the finals at worlds as a 5000m runner.
New Balance - Northeast is more miler focused but seems to be having good success with Maclean, Purrier, and recently MacKay. Close to home.
OAC - might be a good fit with Monson and Norris, but she'd have to click with Dathan's vision. It doesn't seem like that is a match for everyone, but success can be found in different ways.
Mike Smith Elite Collective - Seems to be a growing conglomerate of women training in Flagstaff. There are a few NC State Alumns out there, it seems like this would be a decent fit with personalized training. Tuohy would know exactly what she was getting from people she knows and trusts.
BTC - Pritt and Flynn could easily steer her that way, she's raced Elise earlier this year so she likely has some sense of what it is like. She knows Eugene, it's nice to move somewhere you have a bit of comfort level when leaving college.
None of the other teams have any track record at this point to take her to the next level. I'd say maybe UAC if Jess Hull were still there but there isn't a 5000m presence right now.
Why not Puma Elite Running Team? Could even stay in North Carolina and train with Taylor Werner (15:03), Fiona O'Keeffe (15:01, 30:52), Natosha Rogers (14:52, 30:48), and Koko.
Not that I think OAC is doping, but there have definitely been a lot of rumblings from outside of this board.
And the results have almost been too good.
The rumblings are coming directly from the inside track world. Spilling onto Letsrun. Let’s not all be so naive
by “inside track world,” you mean “universally hated troll and consistently failing influencer jon marcus on twitter”? gtfo there have never been credible allegations. the performance progressions all make sense, and are all still quite far behind world #1s.

Probably because most of what you said isnt that big of a deal.

Not BTC, but I was pretty impressed with how well the Oregon women are performing in the 1500m under Shalane.
BTC signed Hicks, if they sign Tuohy too its a sign they are trying to rebuild with new potential stars.
Hicks also seems pretty happy with his decision. He is up in Park City training with them.
Well, I guess we'll just have to watch deals roll through. Also watch Nike NILs like Valby, guaranteed she will go pro w/Nike, as it's already baked in.
I would refer you to NCAA Bylaw 12.1.2(b)) regarding professional obligations. Although I do think these NIL deals will parlay into ongoing relationships beyond NCAA, however since it can’t be contractually obligated there are no guarantees. Case in point: Touhy x Adidas
Valby hasn't even been able to run consistently more than 3x week without injury. Who would possibly coach her?
The "doping accusations" are a bunch of losers on a message board. They don't mean anything. Bowerman has had insane success compared to what US running used to be. Tuohy will be in great hands.

Based on the upvote/downvote ratio, it seems like people agree with this poster.
I'm totally in the dark. What is OAC being accused of? Who is suspicious? A few months ago I thought people were really positive about them. If they've surpassed Bowerman in sketchiness in people's minds, there must be some serious rumors out there.
As far as I can tell, it seems like some people on this board have strong suspicions about one particular runner in OAC that I believe is based more on not liking the person than actual facts. That's the way things are on this board; if you don't like a particular runner, accuse them of being a PED user. Personally, I don't have any more suspicions about OAC runners than I do for any other club.
It's wild how quickly the pendulum of public opinion can swing. Rumours or no rumours, crazy that BTC is seemingly getting more upvotes than OAC when BTC had an athlete banned for PEDs and other athletes flee the group with it basically being admitted the banned athlete was still training very close to the team. Surely that has to weigh heavier than rumours?
You can bet a shiny penny too that when Houlihan's ban is up in just 16months she'll be back training with the BTC women. I think Astro would have a meltdown seeing pictures of Tuohy clicking off laps behind Houlihan.

Can you stop being so vague and name the runner? 4 pages of people accusing OAC of doping and i still have no idea who we are talking about
