You just made that up. You obviously are not aware of the history of the sport of track and field. So let me educate you.
When a US athlete wins a world championship, they get a bye into the next world championship. But USATF requires them to do an event, any event, at USA's. Kersee decided that since Mu needs to run any event, he figured he would stick her in the 1500. She doesn't have to run fast, or make it to the final. She can jog it if she wants.
One year a defending world champion went to the triple jump and ran right through the sand on his first attempt and he didn't jump again. That was good enough for USATF. So NO, a world champion competing in an event at USA's does NOT make it a serious effort.
There. Now you have been educated. You're welcome.
Athing saw this post and will now switch to triple jump. Great chance for photographer to get some beach shots.
At the moment, Mu's name is on the meet's homepage list, but not on usatf.org live results page....the question is, which is accurate? I would say the usatf.org one is generally more accurate...
Yes, curious. That being said, it could be a paperwork thing. The announcement has gone through USATF and on World Athletics etc. Incidentally, if/when she is processed the meeting will have 4 of the World-Ranked top 10. Pretty dang good. Lipsey is also in her best shape in years.
I'd say my one disappointment for the meet is they should be filling out the 200 field a bit more. Seems weird they don't have 3 NCAA guys in 19.9-20.1 shape to fill out the lanes. Sure, they'll get skonked by Lyes...
Two bouts of Covid that may not be very recent but has lasting effects. I think at best Mu will probably run 1:59. Covid really effects endurance and I think she'll struggle.
Covid effects everyone a little differently. Mu won the world championships last year after having Covid twice. If she runs slow this weekend, it won't be because of Covid from last year.
I think running the 800 is the way to go, it is too late to begin extermination. If Mu was going to try a 1500, she needed to do it in May. I also think SML is starting her 400 experimentation late as well, but I don't think there is as much competition in the 400 as there is in the 800. Hodgkinson and Mora are no joke, while SML will not have to deal with the best 400 sprinter Shaunae Miller.

Mu "had" "COVID" "twice"? Really?
Wasn't she vaxxed vaxxed vaxxed boosted boosted, at least?
And didn't she supposedly "get" "COVID" again?
I hope she races and races... well but gets beat, because competition is good, but the lies she and Kersee have put out about "COVID" are too ridiculous to accept.

The two times that Mu had Covid last year were real.
The Covid that Mu supposedly had a month or two ago may have just been a figment of Kersee's imagination.

Mu is on the usatf site start list now. Fingers crossed she runs, and runs well!

Mu being on the start list might not matter, because there is a storm in the weather forecast for Saturday. I doubt that Kersee will want Mu running in a storm.
