who gives a fly F about Oregon? like really. Nike gives them all the above and below the table money they ask for, and they still can't produce. Hell Brad Hudson would do a better job in Oregon than the current coach. And that pains me to say
I agree with the earlier poster about potential recruits shying away from Oregon going forward. You only have 4 years (for most) to race. Why in the world would you go somewhere where you never get to compete?
Also I believe the brojo’s did some study that especially in cross, after your redshirt soph year you kinda are what you are
2 years is obviously not enough time to fully develop in college. If that "system" Jerry's using is true, I get the idea behind it, but it just seems kinda over-simplified and heartless. As an athlete, you pour your heart and soul into your team. If you don't put forth that same commitment into your athletes, you will very quickly see them check out mentally and emotionally. Say what you want about it being a "business"... that's what the professional scene is for--not college.
Im not sure this is his philosophy? If you look at the roster he’s taken in several athletes as transfers who haven’t done much in college that he seems to be taking a chance on - now obviously one is his own kid… but I also noticed transfer Alex Slenning from Washington among other “older” names…
Oregon had some guys in the 1500 at Bryan Clay this weekend. One of them ran 4:05 and another ran 4:11. Those are 1500m times, mind you, not mile. And these runners have PRs of 3:49 and 3:46, respectively. For a program with the pedigree of Oregon, that’s frankly embarrassing.
So, is this all somehow part of Jerry’s master plan? Are they just running exhausted from killer workouts? Or is Oregon kaput?
Jerry’s a clown. Can’t do anything if he doesn’t have his athletes doped up.

I guess the 2023 commits didn't see your post. Boys: Birnbaum, Burns, Echohawk, Heslam, Noakes (Aus), Watcke, and Steury transferring from ND; Girls: Clute, Cridge, Markow, Peters, Thorsett.
Jerry got 2 athletes in uniform on the line for distances over 800 at a home meet. This is embarrassing.
Nothing embarrassing. My guess is he made a strategic decision to use this as a rebuilding year and redshirt a number of athletes. So, for example, Elliot Cook, running unattached, won the McChesney 1500 in 3:39.52 in cool drizzling conditions.
