Mountain Vista has an incoming freshman boy Ben Adams who ran a 4:59 1600 during indoor track
Also a 10:20 3200 at Liberty bell last fall

Collin Goodwin from Austin Vandegrift - 9:32 in the 3000m race

It is always interesting to see what young runners are doing around the USA. I remember thinking I was a big deal running a 5:15 mile back in 1981 in RVA

Kid I coach in Australia who turned 14 in March has run the following times and is still in 8th grade and will start 9th grade in January (different starting points here) for 400/800/1500m his best in 2023 are 54.02, 1:58.5, 4:04 and just ran 12:43 for 4k XC.

Now these might be considered good times but there is another young runner in our city by the name of Cam Myers who recently ran 3:33 for 1500m at 17. Everyone thinks they can run fast here.

Good luck to all the young runners that people have posted about on this thread. It will be interesting where they will be in another 8-10 years.

Jack Jennings of Fremd runs 15:47, middle school PRs of 2:14 for 800, 4:41 for the full mile, and 11:06 for 2 miles.

Thomas Chudy of Libertyville runs 15:48, middle school PRs of 2:05 for 800, 4:40 for 1600, and 10:59 for 2 miles.

Adam Foley of Stevenson runs 15:54, middle school PRs of 2:02 for 800 and 4:42 for 1600.

Wrong name. That was Drew Symons who switched to CC from soccer and turned in good track times

Correction: Adam Foley has PRs of 2:01 for 800, 4:29 for 1600, 9:40 for 3200. The other two 2 mile PRs are also from middle school cross country, not from the track.
