Wiley set a 12 second 1600 PR to smash the high school record while being coached by the Johnsons. The same Johnsons that have been sued by former runners for giving them performance enhancing drugs.
So yes, there is very much a Wiley scandal.
Do you think that other college runners treat Wiley poorly at meets because they care that Wiley fooled around with her coach? No!
They treat Wiley poorly because she chose to drop a highly rated D1 school (Colorado) to attend with a school connected to performance enhancing drugs, and said that that school was the best way for her to continue running at a high level.
The Wiley scandal has to do with PEDs, not sex.
Take an honest look at Addy's overall progression, not just in one event.
Progressions aren't great evidence one way or another about doping. Multiple eye-witness accounts about systematic doping are convincing, but vanishingly rare. In this case, however, we have them.
Man, she doesn't have an actually support network outside of this mess. Huntington, the town and university, has shaped her world view and she hasn't had the opportunity to get an outside prospective.
Note that the other women in this program that are now suing the university didn't, at least fully, comprehend how bad and messed up things were until they left.
Cultington University should be the new name at this point.

Says the guy who pointed to her progression of a 12 second PR before anything else as being incriminating 🤣
When did the new coaches tell you that they expect everything to disappear? I doubt they did. Do you expect that they should not run meets? I think the coach was hired to coach.
This is why the story is so captivating. There are few good answers. Just lots of evidence of conflicts of interest, corruption at the highest levels of the University, doping and other law-breaking, and unfathomably bad decision-making. If it were just another story of creepy coach grooms and assaults teenager we would have stopped talking about a long time ago -- for better or for worse.
Why was a 'major shoe company' (named in the court filing docs) sponsoring performance enhancing injection experiments at Huntington?
Nike wasn’t actually involved. That was just a guise used by the Johnsons to make the “experiments” seem legitimate. Trust me, Nike wants nothing to do with the Johnsons after what happened with Nick and OTC.
Maybe it’s just a coincidence, but the only races from US Indoors not available for replay on USATF.TV are the 1500s.🤔
I would assume USATF has no legitimate reason for not allowing a replay of Wiley’s races (especially since the men’s races are not available either), but it makes one think.
With USATF’s offices based in Indiana, maybe they have more intel on the situation and while they can’t deny her entry into their events and can reduce some of her exposure.
Total speculation on my end, but something of note

The full webcast is available for replay, they probably just have not cut the videos yet. I am sure they will make the 1500s available.
