Without a doubt he’s in sub 13 shape. Fisher ran 12:53 indoors and later that 7:28 outdoors. Unbelievable race from Nuguse. Excited to see him rip a fast 1500 this year.

Nuguse is my favorite runner right now but I still prefer Donavan Brazier for the most potential. I guess Nuguse can run 800-10k though
Not to hijack the thread, but do you think Brazier will be able to mount a comeback? I feel like that ship has sort of sailed, sadly. I am a big fan but I don't see how he gets it back on track...
Stewy McSweyn is also a 1500 runner who is a legitimate threat at longer distances.
7:28 at the end of last season after dealing with Covid reactions and sickness most of the year. And a 1:02 HM in 2021 something like 5 days after a 3:33 1500.
Spot on in mentioning him as a 1500 medal contender who’s got strength for 3k/5k. But minor correction: he never broke 7:30 last year, but he did run 12:56 at season’s end and ran 7:28 in both ‘20 & ‘21. WHY MUST I BE SO PEDANTIC.

They've both moved passed him in the 15 since then, but we'll see now that Nuguse is healthy. He was great against college guys, but I don't think he quite has the wheels for the 15 at the next level.

I truly believe Nuguse is more talented than Garcia Romo. Mario’s had tremendous health, a superior training setup in college and is tactically amazing, but Yared’s got the crazy engine and looked like the better guy in college.
Yared gonna cook Jakob and Wightman in the 1500m. Yared said his 7:38 last year felt harder than his 7:28…. Thank god he’s out of notre dame, because he wasn’t reaching his full potential staying there for 5+ years. He might be the most talented runner I’ve ever seen.

You haven’t seen some of the greats if YN is the most talented runner you’ve ever seen. Sam Prakel ran 3:50 indoors @ Boston a few years ago and he cannot duplicate it outdoors. We shall see, but the most intelligent posters are pumping the brakes a bit due to all the crazy and outlandish hyperbole.

When he was an injured college kid with Sean Carlson for a coach. If you’ve never seen him have a good kick when healthy then you haven’t watched him race much. I don’t see why he wouldn’t have the wheels for the 1500m like his teammates have shown to have after adapting to OAC.
