Sharkbites can and do fail. Don't ever put one in a sealed wall cavity. I would only use one in an emergency.
They're fine in most cases.
Its like anything else, learn to do basics so you only NEED a plumber for major issues. Same with cars, if you can change oil, filters, and brakes, you can save a ton. And its simple. So are many household plumbing jobs.
Now, we had an iron pipe fail in a crawl space of an old house. Plumber fixed it in 20 minutes on his back. No way I'm tackling that, happily paid him his money.

They work ok if installed correctly. If the pipe isn't de-burred or there some other issue like that the seal isn't always the best. There's an o-ring in there that has dubious long term reliability. They also need to be very stable (best to strap them if possible).
I'm not sure why so many people prefer them to compression fittings. Compression fittings have proven reliability over many decades and are simple to install needing only two wrenches.
Yall think plumbers just unclog pipes? That’s not where the real money is made. Plumbers are contracted to install all plumbing in new construction homes, businesses etc… THAT is where they make their money and that is what requires the education/training.
I find this so hard to believe. 4 years?!? I think as an apprentice you could travel around with a plumber for a year and earn pretty much everything you need to know to become a plumber. Plumbing is not that hard. You spend a few months with an experienced plumber and you should be able to fix anything. Hands-on learning is quick, but professional plumbing services in Vallejo deal with complex systems and strict codes, so full training ensures plumbers can handle any challenge safely and correctly.
It might seem that way, but plumbing involves more than basic repairs. Apprentices learn codes, safety standards, and complex system designs that take time to master.

Seems like you really undervalue the amount of work that Real Americans like Plumbers do for this country. Yet another Elitist opinion by the out of touch Elite
No, she is right. One year is plenty. The rest is money hungry schools trying to bloat the process to turn a larger profit.
a Plumber fixes pipes. He might fix 200 pipes in one month. After he has done that for one month he pretty much knows how to fix a pipe. You are not a NASA scientist fixing an 0-ring on a $5 billion dollar space shuttle. You are fixing a bad pipe on something worth $300. Not $5 billion but $300. How hard can it be?
Apparently harder than understanding you don't need a $ sign and the word "dollar."
A "five billion dollar dollar space shuttle" sounds expensive.

Ignorance. Plumbing can be very simple in most cases. But, there are complexities in most situations. What degree of slope would you need for your discharge line from your dishwasher machine to the washout? What is the standard diameter of interior plumbing pipe in residential dwellings? Commercial dwellings? The list goes on
