Not really a revolution per se, but heat training will become a bigger part of the standard regimen. Interesting stuff coming out of Norway, moreso with their triathletes right now under Olaf Aleskander Bu, but it will make its way to running as well. It's a bit hush hush right now but they are using real time core temp monitoring, a lot of heat training, hot tubs etc. And not just for hot races. All the time. And they're crushing the competition. It's nothing that hasn't been done, they're just putting it altogether and developing a protocol. Interested to see where that goes in the next few years. This probably has more implications for marathon+ than for short and middle distance.
