Caryl makes $500k base. Talking to Babit last year their bonus structure is crazy good. 30%-10% of their salary if they finish 1-10th at ncaa in every sport (M&W indoor, outdoor, Xc) plus academic bonuses etc. Petros had that in place and I’m sure she has it in her contract too. Do the math..That would make her the highest paid.

This is a searchable map and table of T&F coaches (head, asst & assoc, broken down by event groups) at public universities in states that publish public employee salaries (not all do). Data is about ~2 years old.

One thing to be aware of is that many times the head coach position at a "powerhouse program" at a public university will be privately endowed, or paid by a booster. In those cases, since it's not public money, those coaches won't show up in the public employee databases. For some football programs, it could be the entire staff. Or, if it's a partial endowment, the public databases will show their nominal "base" salary but they make well more via the private money.

There is the SEC and the Big 10, then the Big 12 and the ACC. The gap between the others is getting even wider. Like it or not it is based on football revenue and especially TV money. It is why a head coach will leave a 'mid-major' for an assistant's job at a Power 4. Not just salary, but the overall resources that the budget provides.

Any updated info? How about the new big 10? Oregon probably highest paid then USC, Washington, Nebraska? Highly doubt they will get close to the SEC and Wes Kittley salaries
