Wasn't she saying that she was not better than anyone else by wanting to do what everyone else in society does? Seems like she was being forced to call attention to herself and a certain organized group. Would you be okay if her team wanted to kneel in support of Donald Trump and one player refused?
I’ve read several articles related to the story, and what she “protested” was called by her and several others as a “unity statement.”
I don’t know about you, but in my experience with team sports, “unity” is seen as a positive contributor to team success. If a player publicly acts in a way that is against team unity, maybe they don’t care about the team. Again, free to do what you want, but most coaches aren’t going to want to give much playing time to players who are against unity, especially when that unity is rooted in racial equality and equal justice.
your Donald Trump joke is not funny.
That's a bunch of Toro Kaka. In sports you make all your statements on the field. If a coach sees you are not committed on the field, you are out. Any verbal statement is Political. That's why we keep sports out of politics.
Except when woke, right?
Any coach who is doing otherwise is a crook and imbecile.
Big time respect for her….however one comment in the article got me thinking maybe more to the story. The coach said two other players also refused to kneel and they continued to play normally
Gotta wonder what witnesses she is bringing to the sand or any other evidence. Time to request his text messages and e-mails too. Maybe grad assistant coaches?
