Have you seen a world map? Jakob can basically run the Euro XC in december to replace some unit of winter training. For Australia he would have to adjust his plans for summer and need a week or so to cope with acclimatisation and jet lag.
I wouldn’t be so quick to bet against him. It wasn’t that long ago that people were saying he was too big for the 5k and would never compete with the Africans, and look at him now. I’m not saying he would win or even medal, but I think he would be competitive.
Not enough 800m speed for the 1500m. Too big for the 5000m. Will be burnt out by the time he is 13,14,15,16,17,18,19,20,21...
What they are trying to say is that they just cant get their heads around the idea of a white guy destroying their East African idols.
Never will a clean white guy beat the best East Africans.
So he would spend time and effort on European XC (basically the special olympics of XC), but won't "waste" time and effort racing the big boys?
Ducking. Pathetic.
The full statement he made in the interview was “I can’t risk it to put that much into a race that’s not that important compared to the outdoor season,” which is completely reasonable.
I guess beating all the big boys on the track in Eugene wasn’t enough for you lol

Well, I was responding to a fake quote, wasn't I?
Jamin said JI said World XC is "not that important," period. It seems that was a lie.

Um.
You are embarrassing yourself here.
Have YOU seen a world map? Are you aware that most African runners live essentially due south of Scandinavia? And do you understand time zones?
The pathetic excuse of jet lag applies just as much to the competition WHO HE WILL BE DUCKING.
You're an idiot. The question was not at all what Africans do or don't but why Jakob can easily embed euro XC in december but not Australia in march. That one is easily solved by a map and calendar.

Think a bit, maybe.
Still sad that he ducks World XC lol.
So it’s Jamin’s fault you’re an idiot? Maybe watch the video before giving your opinion.

On the offchance that you aren't trolling, Norway has 2 hours additional time difference to Australia than Kenya/Ethiopia and the journey time is minimum 24 hours compared to under 12 from east Africa. Ducking world xc on the other side of Earth to ensure an optimum world outdoors is about the most rational decision he could make.
i dont ever see him being a threat to the kenyans in the marathon, and he might struggle in the 10'000 as well.
I don't see him ever being a threat to the kenyans in the marathon, but I'd imagine him doing well in the 10000 and half. Would you really take Fisher over Ingebritsen in either of those events? I don't see him doing as well as he has been in the 5000 or 1500 but he would forseeably be a contender.
Jake Wightman normally does a couple of ParkRuns in the UK around this time of year. Jakob should try to find out where he's going to run them, and then show up on the day to take his revenge.
