A complete lack of transparency? She gets knocked on this forum repeatedly for sharing too much!
As someone already noted, information about her training, competition, injuries, and other travails is everywhere if you care to look. Molly is one of the most transparent pro runners out there, likely because (as she has said) she's trying to make it easier for others facing the same struggles to reach out and seek help.
Just so you don't miss anything, here's Molly's recent instagram after the BAA half. You know, so you're not too worried about her transparency.
"76:21 for the half, DFL in the pro field, and a major step in the right direction
After a bad race there’s a cliche for a pro to post “it wasn’t the race I wanted…” but honestly yesterday was exactly what I expected and wanted. This last year has been (to put it plainly) hellish, and since July I’ve been all-in on getting my physical and mental health right. Jon & I knew that lining up at BAA half would be a tough experience with
me going in basically untrained, feeling self-conscious about my body image and of disappointing people who expect me to be running at an Olympic caliber. The ego would take a hit, but the important thing was to not quit.
It can be hard to focus on positives when the only physical evidence of that race is a (for me) very slow time, but it’s progress. It’s the first race I’ve done in a year that I’ve been fully pain-free. For the first time in months I’ve actually lined up and been excited to be there and happy to be running. Mid-race when I was DFL in the pro field and the rain was absolutely pouring I was just so happy to be out there racing again.
Thank you to everyone who came out yesterday in the pouring rain to support. Racing with my @verdetrackclub team, my mom & best friend seeing me run, and having hundreds of people just cheering for me regardless of place left my heart so full.
Hard works comes in many forms, and while the results might not show it the last few months have been the hardest work I’ve done in a long time. Here’s to continuing to get 1% better each day."
