Anyone else notice that around 600 she has trouble shortening up her stride and shifting gears? She would be unbeatable if she develops the ability to do that.....
She did compete in 1989, over 400mh. Did that make her exempt from out of competition testing?
You totally missed the point. The point is that Jackie Joyner Kersee's heptathlon scores fell off a cliff as soon as out of competition drug tested started in 1989. She wasn't exempt from out of competition drug testing starting in 1989, which is why she never got close to 7291 again.
She scored 7291 in late 1988. Her next heptathlon after that she couldn't even break 6800. That's what happens when you go off the steroids that you had been taken.

She doesn't need to shift gears at 600. The optimum way to run an 800 is to start quick the first 200 and then slow as little possible the rest of the race.
i think mu has used EPO,but expect to see her muscles pop out like mclachlans, once steroids are added to the mix.sydney screams drug use, athing doesnt yet, although i dont believe a teenage girl can run 1.55 clean.thats something only caster semenya and pamela jelimo have done.
why would you go to a coach who worked with the most s suspect performance in track in an event he doesnt coach
Primarily because Wes who is her manager convinced Sydney to leave her coach when it was working and now hes done the same thing.Remember this is the same people who bashed Nike and then took Mu right to Nike for her first contract Also remember this is the same people who were going to hold Sydney off the 4x4 if Allison didn't run I know everyone loves Felix but this is bush league when you are winning
Mixed feelings about this. She’ll either go Sydney-style stratospheric and run 1.53 or (more likely, IMHO) get stuck in 1.56/1.57 land. Kersee is undoubtedly a phenomenal coach but the 800 is a different proposition altogether

No it's not. Mu is not an 800m/1500m runner, she's a 400m/800m runner and Kersee is more likely to help her than hurt her.

Yes, it very much is. However accomplished you are at 400m, the 800m is and always will be primarily an aerobic event (even more so when you factor in rounds), and as such requires very different training.
They (Sydney and Athing) are going to be scrutinized now more than ever. If Jarmila Kratochvílová's World record and Marita Koch's World record fall then all the suspicion regarding Kersee will be well founded. 2023 will be an interesting year for Woman's 400M, 400H, & 800M.

You totally missed relevant facts that weaken your position:
Many track and field athletes have one outlier performance when everything clicks on a certain day, and they never come close to that performance again. This is especially true for the pentathlon and decathlon, which 1) consist of multiple highly technical events, and 2) are too grueling to be contested frequently, which means less opportunities to perform at one’s best. Look at Kevin Mayer. He hasn’t come anywhere close to his 9126 WR since setting that record 4 years ago.
Jackie Joyner-Kersee had multiple excellent performances after 1989:
7044 pentathlon Olympics gold in 1992 (still the 6th best score all-time and better than any other woman has ever done)
Two 7.49 long jumps in 1994 (still the 3rd and 4th best women long jumps in history)
12.69 100m hurdles in 1994 (5th in the world list that year)
6.67 50m hurdles in 1995 (still standing American record)

Your statement has nothing to do with Jackie Joyner Kersee. Jackie Joyner Kersee had THREE years of outlier heptathlon performances. It wasn't a one time fluke. She was destroying the other heptathletes from 1986 to 1988.
Then her heptathlon scores fell off a cliff.
She was finally able to get over 7000 again in 1992, which was her best non-drugged score.

Or perhaps they figured out how to game the system by 1992 but were still not able to get away with the same regimen as in the 80s.
