What has happened?
She's done really well in her WC races, finishing second this past weekend after winning three in a row, and has put herself in a position to legitimately have a shot at making the team in the spring.
If she finishes at worst one spot behind Katie Zaferes in the last race of this year, GJ will be fifth ranked American and have automatic entries in the World Triathlon Champ series races next year - which offer far more points than the World Cup races - and from there it's basically four women (maybe five with KZ ) for two spots left on the team.
So she isn't there yet, but her trajectory is straight up and there is a pathway to qualifying.
Edit: The points and qualification criteria are *confusing* so if someone knows better than me about the above, please chime in. :)
