First of all, I completely disagree with any type of body shaming comments..but having said that, the bigger issue in my view is why the attention needs to constantly be brought to / focused on these people.
For any athlete out there, there are going to be mega-fans (fanatic die-hards) , average fans (interested in following the ongoing progress) , part-time fans (fans that happen to join/follow because of a specific event) and then the trolls. Doesn't matter if these are live fans at an event, or on some social media site. We obviously have seen this constantly on this site.
The 'good fans' probably make up 95% - 98%% of the fan base...yet the people that attention is given to is the small percentage of someone who say/type idiotic things. Which by focusing / commenting on them...you validate their existence and encourage others to join - whether they actually have any knowledge of the person or not. They get a reaction and they get attention.
I don't say this with any opinion to Keira's comment as I have not read the original post...I quite like Keira...but here we have a thread focused on this one persons dumb comment.
At some point, hopefully, these 'celebrities' will start to ignore ignorant comments made by people that have no relevance...and start to focus on the vast majority of their fan base...which are supportive/positive to them.
