She could have just overtrained, took some time off, and doesn't feel ready to race a high level 10k tomorrow. Has another month to get ready for her preferred 5k.

I can understand that your reading comprehension isn't the best. In that post I talked about how damaging it is for an athlete to share the team with a doper. The doper is Shelby. In fact, my point with the post is that its extra damaging for innocent runners who have nothing to hide - however people are suspicious about this since she is at that time. This isn't implying she is "likely doping", it is implying that it has its cost to be a member of BTC, namely if you get the benefit of the doubt.

Cranny is under no obligation to run, but as a paid pro, I think there should be an obligation that she better explain her reasons for a last minute scratch in the biggest competition of the year. You don’t think she owes anything to anybody beyond herself and her inner circle. I think that is the antithesis of being a pro. We are never going to convince earth other, so I’ll leave it at that.

In the year 2022, it’s been normalized enough to where you can say that you aren’t emotionally well and won’t get stigmatized for your mental health.
I guess the other scenario here: Jerry somehow burnt out Cranny, a lock to make the US team and contend for a medal, in training over the past two months. I can only speculate as Jerry is one of just a few coaches who feel they need to keep their training a “secret”.

I remember a thread a while ago asking why Elise Cranny wasn’t in any of the pictures of Bowerman at park city like 2 weeks after they got there and then she arrived. There were a couple videos of Karissa Courtney and her working out and then she disappeared.
I think her “doesn’t feel like herself” just means she’s burnt out. If she wins USAs in the 5 in a month, we will know that it was the right choice.
