Large corporations taking nearly every entity is concerning. The way I see it though, is that it’s better musk than anyone else. Maybe I’m trapped in the illusion but he seems to want to push the human race in a better direction with the wealth he’s gained. It could be a lot worse.
Interesting that Musk was born and raised in South Africa under Apartheid. He therefore has direct experience with over bearing government censorship.
The guys who wrote the constitution were pretty smart and knew their history. Bad things happen (to those not connected) when the government has control of media and speech (hence the 1st amendment), a monopoly on force (hence the 2nd amendment and things like the jury system) and the economy (hence the various property protections).

Musk is a conservative in that he uses the government to fund his wealth. He would be nowhere without grants, loans and tax breaks from Uncle Sam yet he struts around like he invented the wheel. He didn't even start Tesla

Tesla stock has nowhere to go but down, so he is trying to cash out as much of his gains as possible. He sold off $11 Billion in Tesla late last year (mostly to cover losses in SpaceX). I am guessing he is trying to buy Twitter so he can shed another $40+ Billion. Tesla was the Wall Street darling. Now it is time for its curtain call. He has an automotive company in Tesla that is valued like a dot-com company. So now that its time has peaked (the price to book ratio is way out of line for an automotive company and other manufacturers are eroding his market share), he is trying to divest from it and buy a tech company. Add in the SEC investigation, battery issues, fires, production issues, recalls, etc.
