And to many others. MOST HS kids are no where near this old, that is also a fact. In fact, not that I was any good, and my parents surely should have not made me bus to Kindergarten at age 4, but I turned 17 in Dec. of my Senior year. The best athletes in the grade behind me were all older than I and they were old for then ,at 18 in November and Dec(as Seniors) of same birth year. Same age as me but a grade behind. 19 would have never happened back then, would have been in Boys Town.(Old people reference)
Is he 19? That is pretty old in April of Senior year
20 as a non redshirt frosh next year?
Yeah, isn’t that one fast distance girl also 19? The one who ran the 5000m record? (Sorry forgot her name)
Maybe I’m old but I also turned 18 my senior year and out of my class of 500 seniors, only a dozen were 19: the ones who had flunked a grade at some point and the ones who had immigrated over. But I’m old, I graduated in ‘01. Are times different now where it’s more common to be 19 in ur senior year?
I think this varies by state, but im still suprised seeing so many 19 year old highschoolers. I'm gonna be 16/17 my senior year :/
Not that anyone should care, but you know how old 19 and 9 months is for entering freshman year? When I was in HS going into my freshman year, trhe drinking age was 18 in NJ and a few other states. There were so many , NOT yet turned 18 year olds in my frosh class, that when they took ID pics..you got a Green backround if under age, and Red if of age, as there was a pub on campus. This was 1975, before electricity as well.....LOL
That is his competitive age based on his year of birth which assumes everyone born in 2003 turned 19 on 1/1/2022. He is 18 and will turn 19 this summer.

With regards to Sumner his own father has come on here for the record and indicated his birth year to be 2003.
He should have said "In 2 months, I'm going to make history". He's not going to "re-write" history. Even if he sets a new HS record, those old performances will remain unchanged.

Funny. My wife saw him at NB Indoors and said: That’s a man. No wonder he’s pretty old for being a senior. I was born in March of 88 and graduated high school in May 96 and I was a state champ.
If we are looking for a modern reference for U20 athletes, Max Burgin is still 19 until May 20 and has 1:44.14 from last year. He has had many injury issues though, between which he kills it.
So in a thread about a kid with a big mouth, we get a couple a regulars start barkin at each other and posturin all big and trying to talk some smack about the othern's wife. Fine, high times in amurica we all livin in.
I say set aside the differences and dedicate this thread to Cade's old man, from whom, it would appear, Cade gets his vocal abilities. The 400m video linked earlier is on an account by the name of Stephen Flatt. Now I don't know but it seems to me a likely thing that this is Cade's Pa. Y'all want to check out the video of a 4x400 where we hear a demonstration that would make Lester Flatt proud.
